So we all sometimes feel dizzy when we stand up right? You probably only get this occasionally. Well over the past few months, this has started happening to me much more frequently. I probably experience this up to 5 times a day. Sometimes I even collapse.

Is this bad for my health in the long term? And what do you think is causing it?

Medications I take:
Vyvanse (Dextoamphetamine)

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

I suggest you ask a doctor, not the flood.

That could be a side-effect OP. Go to your doctor and see what the problem is.

This. Might want to take an IQ test while you're at it.

Go see your doctor. We cannot help you with this. Your doctor can make a proper diagnosis and give you the treatment you need.

The objective of war is not to die for your cause. It is to make your enemies die for theirs.

When you stand up, stand up more slowly. It's more common than you think. Sometimes when I stretch my back after standing up, my vision blacks out completely for a few seconds.

I hate doctors. I went to the hospital yesterday so they could do a follow up on a surgery. Because I had a cold, they made me wear a mask and everyone else looked at me like I had the plague.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Seriously. Consistent light-headedness can be indicative of a few things, you need to talk to your doctor.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Orthostatic hypotension can be common, but should be taken seriously, especially if you have frequent episodes.

Talk to your doctor, they will perform some very simple tests and probably find out the root cause and address it.

Stosh <3's me vicariously... at least someone does...

Speaking of chuckles, let's all lol at IonicPaul, who makes friends with bugs to make up for his lack of human contact.

Like everyone's said, none of us have any idea what could cause it.

I could guess (and this is most definitely a guess) that if you've gotten less exercise than normal, or you've been insomniac, I know both of those contribute to such episodes.

^ Totally BSing it. Go see a doctor.

Blood pressure first to confirm that your pressure drops.

Then, to find out why, yeah, maybe draw some blood. You may be consistently dehydrated, your electrolytes may be off, they have to test.

Trust me, a needle in the arm is a quick pinch and over soon. A faceplant at the bottom of a set of stairs is broken facial bones and REAL pain for months. See your doc.

Bro, stop being dumb and go to the damn doctor.

If you are constantly getting dizzy and blacking out when you simply stand up, there is something seriously wrong.

  • 01.04.2013 10:45 AM PDT

oh look another idiot asking the flood for medical advice.

I actually haven't seen this in a while

Thats normal, its the way you sit. It blocks blood flow to your upper body from your lower body. Its a rush of blood coming back to your head. It used to happen to me but I just got a better posture

Its a heart problem, your heart cannot pump hard enough to get the blood up there and needs time to catch up.
