The objective of war is not to die for your cause. It is to make your enemies die for theirs.

Why the -blam!- are they made out of plastic? If you live in a world where weapons shoot lasers, why on earth would you make the armor of your main infantry force out of plastic? It doesn't protect them from anything. Don't get on me with that "space magic" crap. There is no question. It is made out of cheap plastic.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

If its plastic then its damn good plastic. Its 100% effective against ballistic rounds at the very least.

I'm sorry that I made you guys mad but I hate people that are muslim do to the fact that the quaran specifically says kill or convert the infidel. You can look it up if you want. I have a mild learning disability. And I am being serious that I have a mild learning disability. I'm in LLD classes for acedemics.

They dont need good armour or accurate weapons. The empire just throws waves and waves of troops until everything is dead!

I'm going to invade your heart like a barn swallow high on milk chocolate and grandma love.

Fairness is only possible within the limited powers of man. Elsewhere, there is only chance.

Thus I refute thee.

OMG
Master Chief w/o his Helmet!

Stosh <3's me vicariously... at least someone does...

Ceramics and other insulating materials would be a good choice for energy-based weapons.

Alternatively, lead would probably be the best attenuator that they could still wear.

(V)!_!(V) crab

Maybe it has special properties that abosrb and distribute the light around the soldier rather then through him.

Because a cheaply made plastic armor is the easiest to mass produce for hundreds of thousands of useless soldiers. Who cares if it's effective, it's cheap.

Take it up with george lucas, I'm just stating whats been said. I recall a scene where a droid throws a molecular edged spear at a clone trooper at ridiculous speeds and it just bounced off him.

Why So Serious?

"I'm gonna go America all over everybody's asses!"
-Charlie, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Because they had a low budget for the first movie and then had to maintain the cheap-looking appearance for continuity's sake

When does it say that their armour is plastic?

  • 01.04.2013 10:46 AM PDT

Every thing in Star Wars dies from one blaster shot. They just figure they might as well make the armor cheap so it's no big loss when they get shot.

A spear whose edge is meassured molecules...couldn't get through the armor?

Yep. I'm now convinced Star Wars writers have no concept of the word "physics".

The ones that work directly for Lucas Arts don't have a concept of anything.

The people on contracts do the best work.
