Man crawls into bed with woman at night. Man pretends to be woman's boyfriend and has sex with her. Man apparently not guilty of rape. Retrial necessary.

What do you think of this Flood?

Generalizations.
Helping idiots hate other idiots since people have existed.

A result of bad wording of the law. They will certainly change the law and reword it after this case.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

Anyone upset at the judge is a fool. Judges interpret law, not create it.

Also please remove US from your thread title and replace with California. It's more accurate.

Fact: you don't have the right to keep property.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

More awesome than a shark high-fiving a bear during an explosion...IN SPACE.

You know, different states in the US have different laws. California always pulls crap like this.

Like the 18th century interpretation of god stated that blacks were inferior to white people?

There are similar instances across the US that have occurred over the years - as the article states, this has happened in Idaho and a few others.

Don't want to just pick on the poor Californians.

So instead you just generalize the entire damn country. Whatever.

I'm not exactly sure what you're getting at, but it was certainly more than just judges coming up with that interpretation then.

Not that it's relevant at all to this.

If you think this was bad you should have been around when it was technically impossible to charge a husband with non consensual intercourse with the wife.

OMG
Master Chief w/o his Helmet!

Stosh <3's me vicariously... at least someone does...

Kind of seems odd to single out the US when all of India is currently covered with protests over even worse -blam!- laws.

You act like you were...

Anyways, many laws are outdated and need revision. This is one of the worst I've seen, and I am ashamed that its still on the books here in my state.

We need to take a look at all antiquated laws and see which ones should go, and which should stay. Time to clean house.

My point is why should they leap on every excuse to let criminals go. Can't they do the right thing for once?

Great minds discuss ideas

Average minds discuss events

Small minds discuss people

It's a justice system, and unfortunately "right" and "just" are different things. Closely related, yes, but still different.

It's not up to the judge to do that. Judges have to interpret the law even if the law is stupid.

United States + Negative thread = negative replies.
United States + Positive thread = positive replies.
Anywhere else in the world + Negative thread = positive replies.
Anywhere else in the world + Positive thread = negative replies.

You have to follow these rules when posting on an American infested forum, OP. I wouldn't advise including United States + Negative ever again on The Flood.
