Subject: New Map and Gametype Idea

So me and a bud were talking about what would make a cool gametype with a new map based on part of a level from the H2 campaign. Remember the level at the beginning with the bridge you cross with the scorpion? Alright, the level would be a variation of the bridge itself. Two teams. Each team spawns at each end of the bridge. The goal is to take the bridge. Everyone gets a single spawn. It would have to be round based. There could be an area where you stand to take the other teams side of the bridge. Say each team gets 1 scorpion, 2 hogs, and two ghosts. Well, with new vehicles I guess it would be open to anything. The cool part would be that since you're on a bridge, everyone is aimed and watching in the same general area on each team. Banshees would be fun for this two. You could tweak it and make it like the level in H2 with one team on covenant and the other UNSC. MC's with Marines and ODST's vs. elites with grunts and jackals. I think that with the 360's new abilities we're gonna see more maps which affords the ability for maps to be gametype sensitive. I would love to play a game like this. Anyone agree? Ideas for this map/gametype?

Hey, thats a real good idea. But forgive me I had a cool one like this--

The map would be reminiscent of the structures on Halo that fire those pulse things. The map would be pretty much a dilapidated station at the top of the fireing mechanism, it would have secveral floors, and would give the impressoin you were in a jungle at night, possibly Lockout theme inspired. But every minute or so, the pulse thing would fire, and those in the middle, would be killed, because there are holes in the floors that owuld open up and the rooms with the floors would seal off.

Just and idea, and yours is excellent.

Sounds very interesting. I think it would be beautiful to see. Much better looking than my idea. But equally as fun.

I would like to see a gametype where you have to control something.

The objest of my idea is trying to hold your side while taking the other. But I guess you'd have to kill all of the other team before you could take their base. Unless you can get a hogload of people to an area to hold down part of their base and overtake it while they are fighting on the bridge for your side. You'd have to pull back and defend. It'd be sweet.

Technically as that saying goes there has been ever since Halo: Combat Evolved. Kill yourself in campaign or multiplayer. Don't respawn. You are now technically "Swimming with the fishes"

To swim with the fishes=to be dead, as the saying goes. Now with my Bridge map/gametype idea you could jump off the bridge and swim with the fishes. Either literally or as the saying goes.

Yea man, you could transfer this idea to multiple maps, they wouldnt even have to be original, people who have played the campaign would know, it would be like " Take the Map" kind of thing. Where you would only have one life per round, it would have to be 8 v8 or possibly more by the time Halo 3 came out. To bad Bungie doesnt read these, that would be a great idea,

Imagine having to take the map like Turf, it would be for the most part symetrical. That would be awesome, good idea.

Thanks man, kinda adds a new element without changing it so drastically, like with survival mode. Not that its a bad idea.

No problem man, I like your idea because it doesnt take away from what makes Halo Halo, most of the ideas I see [ customizable weapons, armor, air strikes ] give Halo a feel that isnt what Halo truly is. your idea doesnt take away from the core of Halo's gameplay.

Im thinking it would be cool to add a New Mombassa kind of map that would involve taking the center, it would be like a big battle, like the normal Halo campaign, you only have one life, you have to defeat the enemi9es, and you have to take the map. Thumbs up.
