Cortana wasn't simply programmed. And even if she was, so? Philosophically speaking the same could be said about us. Arguing that an AI cannot really feel emotions is as futile as me arguing you can't.

Out of EVERY GAME released in 2012, people pick games like Halo 4 or Mass Effect 3.

EVERY

GAME
To be fair, Mass Effect 3's ending is among the worst pieces of writing I know of, bar none. The rest of the game is simply mediocre and I agree that you could *much* worse.

Now there were no bad stories. But the worst and the biggest letdown was Halo 4.

But the rest of the game was fantastic and incredibly fun to play.

How could you say a game that actually reduces people to tears has the worst story of every game released this year.

I elaborated my position in my edit.

Tuchanka was the only part of the game that I was impressed with; it was executed extremely well. The rest of the game varied from mediocre to complete dreck for me, but I agree that it wasn't nearly as bad as the ending.

Out of all the big games I've played, I have to agree with you.

Pretty much everything to do with Vent Boy, the Crucible, Cerberus, the Catalyst, the intro and the ending are poorly written. The subplots are good though

Far Cry 3.

This is their view of what a plot twist is (Spoilers):

*I find out Vaas is Citra's brother*

"Whoa! No Way! That's so-"

"Wait a second... How does that change anything in the storyline again?"

Okay, you are completely ridiculous. That wasnt intended as a "plot twist". Citra tells you Very early in the campaign, AND once you kill Vaas and thats it.

Good god, even if that was intended as a plottwist, you think just because of THAT, out of the whole 12 hour unique campaign, that it makes it worst campaign of the year.

Lordy, the Flood is a joke.

It was still very bad. I had no sympathy for the Protagonist, the guy I'm supposed to like.

Halo 4.

The only reason why so many of you people are saying Halo 4 is because it didn't live up to the expectations set in previous installments. The story could have been MUCH better than the polished turd that it was, but people need to stop hating it so much purely based on the franchise it is a part of.

OT-
I don't really know to be honest. Apart from Halo 4, none of the games I played this year had really bad stories. I watched my friend play Ninja Gaiden 3, and I didn't have a clue what was going on other than the fact that Ryu had some weird thing going on with his arm and there was some kid he rescued or something.

Halo 4

I was wondering when the bandwagon hate train would show up.

Look, I know you're just a guy with a tiny dong and an even smaller brain, but to say it was not a good story is laughably misguided.

Halo 4 hate train? I have to agree with him. The story was sub-par, badly told, and rushed out of proportion. Though here we are throwing around these... these disgusting OPINIONS! So quite clearly he's an idiot and lacking manhood for believing otherwise instead of blindly accepting that it "was a good story". Oh, but because I dislike the story, I must be on the hate train too! Because if I have my OWN opinion and reasons for them, I have a small dong as well!

Is that right? The only thing laughable here is your assertion that any who dislikes the game is a moron when there are many reasons evident for why it could be disliked by a massive audience.

Halo 4

But I've only played two other 2012 games and their stories stomp h4's. Also lol @ fanboy rage.

You unlock this door with the key of inebriation. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of gingers, a dimension of drunks, a dimension of Lucky Charms. You're moving into a land of both beer and potatoes, of marshmallows and leprechauns. You've just crossed over into... the Shamrock Zone.

GT: Agent Shamrock

I'm not entirely sure. I mean the Halo 4 story wasn't amazing, but the only other new games I played this past year was Borderlands 2, Assassin's Creed 3 and Far Cry 3, (the last two I'm still playing and plan on completing in the near future.) So seeing as I can only really give judgement on either Halo 4 or Borderlands 2...I'll have to say Borderlands 2 because I thought Handsome Jack was an awesome villain
