Subject: What will happen when the new members arrive?

Man of God. Fan of Bungie. Eater of many Jr. Bacon cheeseburgers.

I'll befriend them. You're more likely to stay in a new place if you make a few friends the first few days.

The forums will probably be more active.

Faith has nothing to do with it, Halo brought hype, cause it had a name. Destiny is a new IP, so it still has steam to build. Of course, I may not be factoring in the activity that will come in just cause it's a Bungie game.

I am never late,Nor am I early; I arrive precisely when I mean to.

Check out this Thread on how to help new members here on Bungie.net

It's going to be very exciting!!
Remember all lets be a welcome and helpful community when they come and friendly face to all no matter who they are..

I'll just leave THIS here if you want some ideas for what I stated above

I'll write an app entitled "New Members" whcih brings up nothing but the bnet searchbar.

Probably won't work though. ;)

+1 for you good sir.

Nothing really, just an activity spike in all (hopefully) the forums.

I'm sure if you stay up late enough, you'll meet people you've never seen before. Same thing when new people arrive.

A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal.

And from FOX, two phantoms were born.

I'm going to recruit all the young ones as my minions

And we shall start an uprising.

I can see PS3 fanboys, saying all the Halo's were garbage on the flood and people falling for it.

But, what is it good for?

Embrace the new people... That is all you can really do. It's best to not think that you have seniority over other just because you've been around longer. It was hilarious to see some of the people on Waypoint right after Halo 4 launched in the general forums thinking they reigned supreme over the "infection" that took over the Halo 4 forums. If you treat the new people with respect they will be less inclined to troll. That is something we can all be happy about.

Bungie doesn't like French on their site.

Yep. I'll be more tolerant with them too. Try and learn them some.

"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle- victorious"

I'm expecting a reasonable increase in activity. Hopefully, the noobs will revive Bnet. The arrival of the noobs is also going to be frustrating, there are going to be a lot of new users posting in the wrong forums. But we are here to prevent that.
:)

We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

To be honest I think it will be like any other time we get new members. 07, 09, and 10. The only major difference is that from 2011 and up we all experienced the halo days. As for the new members who never experienced that time. We should treat them with great welcome.

What goes here??

Much more activity! Although I don't think it will be much different than it was before the darkness.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

Unsuccessfully trying to bring science and reason to The Flood...

I always try and be patient with new members when it is clear they have only just joined (apart from obvious trolls), but I'm not one to criticise other members really.

I have found more recently however that I do hold "new member" status against people when they are trying to express/explain some grand knowledge about how these forums work. Which is happening a lot in The Flood nowadays.

Sometimes starting back from square one does good...

Ask smart questions

I won't mind new members, but as a frequent Floodian I think I'll not post in the Flood until the new members chill.

Lady Astor: "If I were your wife I'd put poison in your coffee."

So what do YOU think will happen when the new members arrive?
And what will you do before/when the newbies arrive?
Will you troll them some extra? Will you try to get them to know the place?

Get to know them and get used to hyperlinking the forum rules and FAQ sticky threads at the top of the community forum, also try and get them involved in community events to keep the numbers up
