"Sophisticated ignorance, write my curses in cursive"

I am completely lost in the campaign in Blops 2. Right now i'm at the level where menendez' sister gets killed by woods, right after that god-awful strike force mission that's impossibe to beat.

I have no real idea what is happening and it is too hard for me to get immersed in the story, I guess all the cursing is kind of throwing me off. I'm not sure...

But honestly, can someone explain to me what is going on?

In all honesty, an 8 year old could understand Blops 2's story.

The campaign is really easy to understand if ya ask me. Just sayin'

But I'll tell you anyway. Menendez was the radio operator you shot. Well he is pretty upset about that so he starts a group and tries to take over the world.

Why are you here?

I played the campaign on Veteran, and by god, all of the strike force missions were impossible. The campaign is simple to understand, just that the time jumps can be confusing.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself

Ok, the story is set between two timelines. The present, where you play as Section, and Woods and Mason's hunt for Menendez, the game's antagonist.

JOSEPHINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

OT:Menedez is the bad guy. That was a mission in the past as mason. In the "future" levels you are Masons son David trying to also catch menedez.

Well, that's a little better. The beginning of the game had too much happening for me to understand it. I know it's a good story and I want to get into it but there is too much happening, and then the random strike force mission threw me off track again.

This.

When the black guy (dont remember his name) yelled at me for failing I was like "You try killing that walking tank with a sniper!", cause that's basically what is always came down to for me. -_-

I prefer to be the man in a mask.

I found this explains it pretty well

What pissed me off was I didn't know that the Strike Force missions had to be completed, so I took all the hard choices in the campaign to try and get the good ending, only for me to realize that I was completely wrong.

No, I don't want to join your group/clan/team/community.

>Menendez sells drugs
>Woods hate him for torturing him
>Woods loses his cool and throws a grenade which accidentally kills his sister.
>Menendez over reacts and tries to destroy the Earth.

I just hate the choices that have to be made during the final two major choices in order to get the perfect ending.

Ad Infinitum

The only SF mission that's close to difficult is the drone-only escort mission. All the others are fairly simple.

Anyway, yeah. I guess I was so used to MW series focusing on the same characters that I got blindsided by Menendez's self-proclaimed importance. I kept wondering "Where did this guy come from? Why is everyone so afraid of him? He's just a -blam!- drug maker from Nicaragua..."

Eventually I got it, but it just doesn't flow very easily for me. I doubt I'll ever replay it.

I flipped my -blam!- trying to get to Karma on that one mission, and killed Harper because I knew Farid had to survive, even if it meant that Harper wouldn't be present to help me in the final missions. And even though I made all the right choices, because I didn't do all the stupid SF missions, I got the -blam!- bad ending .

Signatures are for little kids.

I played a couple of missions so I'll fill you in.

Old dude in nursing home is talking about a bunch of war crap nobody cares about. Flachback, kill some terrorists then maybe kill some in 'present day'.

Ride a horse around, run through a villiage with a machete.

Didn't see the end but I imagine some fireworks go off, a big American flag covers the screen with maybe some machine guns being shot by a line of catholic priests and a reminder to enlist in the armed forces.

I did the campaign first play-through on Veteran...Strike Force missions are near impossible on Veteran, I swear it.

Pretty much this.

Were the 'strikeforce missions' those times where you aren't playing as one character any more but expected to know what's happening all over and defend multiple points at once from enemies that spawn all over the place?

I had one mission like that before I traded the game in, and it sucked really hard.
