Well some of you know that there are different kinds of grunts. Well when i was playing today i noticed that one grunt had a kind of metel plate on his head and a curved top thingy, and the one with just the mask had a pointed top thingy. Also there are different color grunts. Tell me more about the different kinds of grunts and what the difference is. Is there only two kinds of grunts are are there more. You can post anything here about grunts, from what they say to how they look.
No insulting comments please. =)

Ok I will answer anything and the grunt doesn't say that was me. I have heard it many times and know exactly what he says. First u get to the passageway and u walk through a narrow doorway there is a bunch of flood and covenant bodies. And at the end of it is a spec ops grunt who when u walk over too says "good thing they has food on the snack bar because I worked up a big grunty thirst!!!" and then he just stands there. So I kill him lol. Also about the plates and the armor. Its like elites, orange is lowest ranking, red is middle ranking, black (spec ops) is highest ranking. The plates are either ranks for the grunts in there division or just a insignia that is there for no reason.

Yeah, there are a couple different models for every Covie race in Halo, excluding Hunters. The differences in the Grunts, which you stated above, the mohawk plumes or gray helmets of the Jackals, and if you look really closely you can tell that Elites have 2 types of helmets. Hopefully these variations will make it into Halo 2.

Hunters too? I hadn't noticed that one yet... nor did I notice the different helmets could you explain the diffs?

I said excluding Hunters, sorry, should've been more specific. Anyway, as for the Elites, I didn't know about it either until someone made a topic about it a month or two ago, can remember if it was here or somewhere else though. Next time you play Halo, look real close at the Elites after you've killed them. Looking down at the top of their heads, the back of the helmet on some Elites forms close to a half circle shape. The other helmet is the one we've seen from the screenshots from E3, with several ridges. It's hard to explain without pictures, but if you pay close attention playing, you'll notice.

OK. Once you pass Foe Hammer, keep going until you go DOWN a ramp, and the counter reads like 950+ meters. take a RIGHT into one of the semi-circle shortcuts, stop HALF-WAY THRU, and go off to the right down a tunnel. There you'll find a Spec Ops grunt with a needler, who hops around in place, and says only ONCE, this infamous outtake by Staten:

"Sure hope that FOOD nipple's waitn' for me back at the starship 'cuz MAN, HOO! Have i worked up a big, GRUNTY THIRST!"

Also, the ELites' helmets are INDEED different - some are simply pointed with three spikes in back, other like the Gold Commander have sharper ones sticking from the sides, and of course there's different builds and symbols on say Gold and Silver Spec Ops Elites.

Not sure if it's been explained yet, but:

Once you get past the vent explosion part of The Maw and get into a Warthog, I believe you take the first right into a tunnel that there is.
