I'm not so good with advice...Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

Just curious about how you would become a police officer. Anyone on here want to be/in the process of becoming/are a police officer?

Go to your state police website and check all the requirements.

Call them up.

Done.

:)

I'm doing a bachelor of social science (police studies) at university. While I'm doing that, I'm also getting my fitness up and going through the physical requirements to make sure I can pass (I just need to work on chin ups. Can do everything else). Don't know what the requirements are where you live though.

Once I'm finished at university, I'm just going to apply. Simple, really.

In Arizona.. Don't need a degree.. Just a certificate. This means if you have the body and mindset.. you can get in that career quicker and acquire experience faster, than sitting in a classroom for 2+ years. I heard Police training only takes a year and certification can be done in months.

In Pennsylvania, you just need a High School degree, and you must pass a basic training test.

Go to New Jersey. Most cops start out at like 80k/ year.

Go to a nice suburb and get over 100k/ year to do almost nothing.

And that's before OT.

I wouldn't, PA is full of inbreeds and over-egotistical Pittsburgh Steelers fans.
