Subject: ESRB rating system is now enforced like Alcohol.

Why the hell wouldn't it be enforced that way to begin with?

Because for some reason parents think it's okay for their 12 year old to play Dead Space

what are they going to do? jail them?

Assuming that it works like that with Alcohol. Yes. The police will arrest you for underage gaming.

That is an excellent waste of money, there are people who shouldn't be in jail as is but if this really happens then majority of people in jail shouldn't be there.

I don't even see how the police come in. If you have your window open while playing CoD and the neighbor sees they can call the cops? But then again a kid shouldn't answer the door so i don't see how the cops would get in to arrest them. And it isn't like they can't just turn the xbox off.

This is really stupid.

There isn't anything wrong with that. The issue is Parents letting kids play dead space without knowing how the kid will handle a game such as that.

They are just games.

It's just a scenario. It's not supposed to be real or anything.

That doesn't seem so bad

Unless you're fighting the champions in the PWT, then it would be bad, yet good at the same time

I'll hit 17 in a few weeks so it won't matter plus my country doesn't enforce a rating system on video games.

  • 01.04.2013 11:10 PM PDT

Play them anyway for another year until I'm legally able to.

I know everything, I've just forgotten most of it.

Also, my XBL Gamertag is 'Wenggh', not 'A Stolen Fruit'.

Realise I'm not in America and proceed to live my life as if nothing happened.

-I was here

Considering I'm 18, nothing. Maybe start up a business where I sell the games to under aged folks at 10-20% increased price, if their parents won't buy them for them, but other than that, I'd do absolutely nothing.

loljk, anyways I'm 17 soon, so I couldn't care less.
Edit:Also my country where I live doesn't enforce it, they just ask for I.D, but then again, there are tons of "violent things" on stuff like the news, so it's not really "hardcore" stuff for what there's in video games.

Why do we fight? To protect home, and family. To preserve balance and bring harmony. For my kind, the true question is... what is worth fighting for

Heavy weighs the crown, low hangs the head who wears it.

I can just see kids in middle school bragging about how they were "totally playing CoD" the night before.

It is perfectly ok as long as you PARENT your children and have them understand the difference between reality and fantasy. Please, I was play shooting my friends long before I ever picked up a video game.

Now to address the thread: This would never happen. Not only would it be horrifically infringing on freedoms but would be impossible to enforce.

  • 01.05.2013 12:45 AM PDT

+1 for you good sir.

I'm 17 so I could care less.
