Yes. There are marijuana addicts everywhere. You can't leave your house for fear of being run over by one.

I'm a lot more afraid of teens texting while driving. I also didn't know these states made it legal to drive while high.

I would trust some one high driving then someone who was drunk. Plus weed is safer than tobacco ,alcohol, and peanuts.

It is about time! People are finally realizing prohibition only causes far more harm and even increases availability to children! I am damn proud of these states. I am killing myself with tobacco, why should marijuana, which causes no harm, be illegal? What I do with my own body is nobody's damn business but my own.

Education is key, not prohibition which will never work. Or should we prohibit alcohol again? That worked out well, right? Do you think prohibition has stopped anyone from using drugs if they really wanted to? Nope, it just makes them easier for children to obtain and increases potency of drugs.

I agree and love your posts, but I should pay devil's advocate and mention SMOKING marijuana will cause slight and easily reversible lung damage. It's insignificant and pales in comparison to cigarettes. It also avoided completely with vaporizers and edibles! ;)

Why can't more people have sense like you? I love that my avatar is kind of fitting for this thread hehee!

On topic: I can not believe we've come this far from the horrible propaganda and blind belief the war on drugs is working or even worth doing. Think about it, There are now two states in this country where you can smoke pot legally! I would have never thought this would happen ten years ago. Finally, this country is making it clear we're sick of locking up innocent people. It also costs US a fortune.

They didn't. The legal limit comprable to alcohol's .08 is .05 nanograms of thc, which is a very very small amount

That's right. My plumage is brighter than yours.

So proud of both Washington and Colorado. A lot of hard work over the years have gone into making this happen, and the people of those states deserve much credit for voting these bills into laws. I participated a few months ago in some phonebanking with a local SSDP chapter where we called Colorado residents to talk to them about voting on Amendment 64--I was so very surprised with how many people were on board and ready to vote "Yes" on it!

Hehe, thanks for that info, but I was being sarcastic to show how foolish his post was. I definitely don't condone driving stoned and I definitely never will.
