Subject: Why do sangheili hate assassins?

Ahh it's you. Been a while hasn't it? We WILL finish this.

Just you wait.

Elites always like to be in open combat and only use stealth when its absolutely necessary(spec op elites) why? Assassins are cool.

It's a code of honor thing. Kind of ironic since they're the inventors of active camouflage.

I make a living of selling my body, and I don't mean sex.

Soon to be breaking news:

US Coast Guard prepares for massive rescue mission after Iranian fleet sinks off shore. Reports say a small thunderstorm caused most of the ships to simply...fall apart.

Honor.

Honor.

What honor is there in charging at your enemies with nothing but an energy sword as they mow you down with assault rifles? Seen this in the books and games quite often.

Again, Irony.

Though if you look back t Ninjas and Samurai, each had their own code of honor.

It's not about your beliefs, it's about theirs. So long as they maintain their code of honor they can die with no regrets and their comrades will honor that in turn.

My memory is kind of bad and my knowledge on japanese history is limited, but weren't ninja just thugs and assassins who killed for money? Honestly I remember learning this somewhere.

As described by john and some of the other spartan IIs, elites would do things like this where it was easier for spartans to kill them.

They believe in ambush and using stealth, but to be deceptive is cowardice.

^ I thought ninja's were mostly local farmers striking back at their Samurai opressors using stealth methods and hit and run tactics.

If we're still talking about Elites than their mission was to eradicate Humanity by any means or die trying.

Oh thanks. The book that Id read was historical fiction but the story was told by the POV of a samurai who saw ninjas as thugs. This clears things up.

I guess this is why Ive always liked spartans over elites. Elites are at many times arrogant and their pride gets in the way. And their honor thing is illogical to me.

If you're interested in knowing more about Samurai and Ninja's, you might want to consider reading an actual scientific and historic accurate book about it.

These kind of books will leave the legends behind and tell you what's actually up.

I'd recommend
Ferejohn, John, War and State Building in Medieval Japan

I have another one lying around here somewhere... but I've kind of lost it at the moment so I owe you that one.

I've heard great things about those books.
