Subject: Why do sangheili hate assassins?

Ahh it's you. Been a while hasn't it? We WILL finish this.

Just you wait.

If you're interested in knowing more about Samurai and Ninja's, you might want to consider reading an actual scientific and historic accurate book about it.

These kind of books will leave the legends behind and tell you what's actually up.

I'd recommend
Ferejohn, John, War and State Building in Medieval Japan

I have another one lying around here somewhere... but I've kind of lost it at the moment so I owe you that one.

Ill look into it.

Without the Prophets, they're becoming feral.

CE: Elites in their prime. They did not stupidly berserk when they lost their shield, only when they took flesh wounds (and according to canon, they'd rather die than go to a doctor). They did not stupidly charge with a sword (it seemed that way with Stealth Elites but that's because their sword glow was set wrong). They jumped at you. They didn't need power weapons, grenades, or fast running to kill you. Their strafe was awesome despite their running speed being comparable to yours if not slower.

Halo 2: this is when Elites became much more stealthier. They rarely berserked. Better flanking (instead of coming at you one way, they could come from above) though their strafing was nerfed. It could also be said this was when they were in their prime. Also, despite the sword Elites being nerfed (so slow you can lead a train of them around the map), they still had that graceful sexy swing.

Halo 3: this is when Elites became retarded (more hunch, reckless charging, lame vertical swipe with sword) but at the same time, comical. I liked how they paid attention to their dead comrades.

Reach: this is when Elites regained ferocity, but in a really bad way. Also, no more honor, they're cheap. They berserked when they lost their shield, made frequent charges, had a turning melee just like the Brutes which left them easily vulnerable, almost always fell for Hologram, and let themselves be guided by enemy-held Needle Rifles.

They were constantly on the move though.

Halol 4: this is the end of Sangheili honor and ferocity.

A bunch of dumb looking dinos rushing with power weapons. Taking cover at bad times, hijacking from a mile away, rarely strafing, and spamming grenades. Enough said.

A Halo 4 Elite in a nutshell.

On the bright side, the Elites are much more harder to kill in cqc (no more turning melees) and rarely berserk (they still berserk for stupid reasons though).

And I appreciate how they can't board your tank (it would have worked in Halo 2 and 3 but in Halo 4, once they get on there'd be no way to get them off without risking blowing your tank up. Due to the plasma pistol overcharge spam from Jackals, it'd been suicidal to get in a tank in the H4 campaign).

Well said, I agree, these Covenant are incredibly aggressive but that makes them more rash and easier to outwit.

It's a code of honor thing. Kind of ironic since they're the inventors of active camouflage.

So

>We hate assassins and stealth!
>Builds active camo and uses it quite often
Yes it is about honor. The reason they have active camouflage is that they want to follow the Forerunners, so they try to reverse-engineer Forerunner technology.

Yep. Since this is Spartan Ops, there's no Catch skull I could have turned on.

Yeah you wouldn't believe how many fuel rod gun Elites I killed because I camped at one spot. They charged me, one at a time. I did not have camo or plasma pistol purchased at the time so this was an excellent way of dispatching them.
