Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

-Me

I am about to hit 24 hours without sleep. I know someone on here is at 50 hours, but I'm the kid who wants to break the record for longest time without sleep. Currently I feel fine. Not tired at all, I don't know why this is maybe my midnight snack (meat lovers pizza and sweet tea) had something to do with it.

The longest time I have gone without sleep is a little over 48 hours so this should be interesting to see how long I can make it without sleep. I go back to school on Tuesday so I will definitely force myself to sleep monday night.

So Flood, how should I go about obtaining my goal of 72 hours with no sleep and what is the longest time you have gone without sleeping

Unsuccessfully trying to bring science and reason to The Flood...

I have exams in a couple of days. Sleep is more important than a forum record.

Haha, according to Wikipedia the world record for staying awake is eleven days (264 hours). If you want to go for that, be my guest :).

I think you will see the walls melting about halfway in though...

And at my UK University I have January and Summer exams every year. :( . Christmas has not been fun in years. lol

Really? Only eleven days for the world record? I'd expected that to be around a month or so. It's not even 2 weeks.

It must not be that hard to beat. Or is it?

I would try and beat if if I would get money for beating it.

my heart goes out to you man. That sucks, this was unintentional as well. I did not plan to attempt the record until the summer. This is a surprise test run I guess

Generally, sleep deprivation may result in:

aching muscles

confusion, memory lapses or loss

depression

hallucinations

hand tremors

headaches

malaise

sensitivity to cold

periorbital puffiness, commonly known as "bags under eyes" or eye bags
increased blood pressure

increased stress hormone levels

increased risk of diabetes

increased risk of fibromyalgia

nystagmus (rapid involuntary rhythmic eye movement)

obesity

temper tantrums in children

yawning

Also, fun fact:

Randy Gardner holds the scientifically documented record for the longest period of time a human being has intentionally gone without sleep not using stimulants of any kind. Gardner stayed awake for 264 hours (11 days), breaking the previous record of 260 hours held by Tom Rounds of Honolulu.

Oh lol, well I wish you the best of luck.

It's really weird with our school though.. apparently we can decide ourself when we want to do the exams. But we do have to finish all the schoolwork before doing that. And you definitely must have finished all school work within 2 years if you take niveau 2, which I have.

This february I will have been on this school for 1 year, so I have a whole another year to complete it. But I want to complete it this year, in MAY!

So yeah, I'll be working my ass of next week until I'm done with all the school crap, and then hopefully do and succeed my exams in may. :D

Probably a few years ago when I'd pull all-nighters, back when I was addicted to gaming.

I get 8-10 hours of sleep every night, now. Once in a while I'll go out, but only when I know it's going to be a good night worth missing sleep for.
