Kai Leng.
People saying Master Chief are being totally pathetic, there's nothing characteristically different about him in Halo 4 at all, he simply has more dialogue. Oh, you think it's cheesy? No less so than the very first thing he says in Halo CE after greeting Keyes is a joke about Cortana's driving. He retains the same personality as a wise-cracking, to-the-point soldier, the only difference is that he's no longer a sterile, one-dimensional archetype. He's his own person now, and Halo 4 developed that beautifully through his relationship with Cortana.
But hey, stupid people gonna stupid.
He has changed, it's called character development.
It's not a bad thing at all and 343 should be given kudos for how well they worked with Chief's established character (or lack there of) and turned into a compelling theme.
Emotionally, yes. He has a lot more depth now than he ever did, but he retains the exact same characteristics he had in the original trilogy - his portrayal now is very much in-line with how he was in the novels.
I'm sure we'll get more in depth of his personality as the trilogy progresses.
