Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

generation Pokémon games, what Pokémon would you show him?

For me it would be:

Haxorus

Hydreigon

Samurott

Gigalith

Come one Flood, lets show the nostalgia driven fans that not all new Pokémon are dumb.

Robot Academy. Kinda sorta the best group on here.

Coming from someone who hasn't played the latest gens, these two aren't convincing me at all.

It's funny how people claim that the new Pokemon are crap and the old ones are better, when the first gen games had Pokemon that were just real animals with a spelling change, or something extremely boring like a "Pokeball looking one!" "A ball of gas!" "A mime!"

Dear Floodians:

A Girl thread a day keeps the ladies at bay and gets us banned, the lonely single way.

Call me Stu

The best way for me to judge from Pokemon games is to just look at the starters and legendaries and just go on that really.

I thought we were just looking at the way they looked. I'm sure the new gens have got quite a few very powerful pokemon. The previous gens had some that could bend time, space, alternate dimensions and that were the start of all life. Curious to see what they will come up with next.

At the guy who said he wasn't impressed How about BISHARP

to the guy I quoted, to be honest the starters suck compared to the old ones. The legends however:

Zekrom

Reshiram

Kyurem

Genesect

The Snow Leopard's wisdom includes: Understanding one's shadow-side; trusting one's inner-self; agility; strength; the ability to stalk; understanding the power of silence.

I'd show them the lag-free online battle service, variety of new abilities, and the re-balanced moves.

A big part of why some people don't like the newer Pokemon is because the art style changed after generation two, and no amount of convincing will change their opinion of art.

We must start small. My goal is to win over one nostalgia driven fan, once we have one on the inside we can get them all

The first two generations had a simplistic art style about them, and that simplicity has a charm to it that the later generations don't. While I personally do like the majority of new Pokemon, I understand why many do not, and I can respect their opinions.

I agree with everything you said. I'll admit some of the new Pokémon are rather stupid in design, but that isn't to say that many of the originals were not creative either.

That's how I was when I played Pokemon. As long as I had a starting Pokemon I was interested in and a cool legendary to keep me motivated, I was good to go.

In terms of how they look, Gen1 and Gen 2 were great, Gen 3 was good, Gen 4 was doable, but these new guys just look like the people ran out of ideas; they look forced and there names are bad puns (ex: Crustle).

If I may have my input on this, I see it as gen I and II having the best designs, Gen III being great, Gen IV being meh, then Gen V being "What the hell...oh there are some good ones."
