What are you Flood?

TO me it depends. For gaming I'd go for Windows all the way. It is simply better and more compatible for gaming.

If I want to have a computer for my family, I'm going for Mac. THough I'm not paying that mark-up for inferior hardware, I'd build a computer then give it Mac OS/X. My family bought a Mac a while back so they're more familiar with this OS/X, and it isn't all that bad for searching the web and file arrangement.

As a bonus, are your a Linux? How is it, is it compatible with most games?

I've used both Windows and OS X.

Currently, I'm on Windows as it has better support for games but OS X is a great OS.

I've been using *nix for the better part of 10 years now, and Debian is my flavor of choice.

OS X > Windows, though.

well guys.....he admitted it.

I find OS X to be more user friendly and less problematic and also like the style of the UI more than the Windows UI. As I almost exclusively play games on console the lack of games is no problem for me.

This. I'd take you out for a dinner at your favorite restaurant.

Quoted by a Mod. Call me a suck up, but I feel pretty damn awesome right now.

I dislike the lack of game compatibility for macs. Be abl to buy KOTOR 1, but not KOTOR 2, or any newer games.

I do like the simplicity and reliability of my mac, though. I'm not extremely tech savvy when it comes to coding, or knowing the ins and outs of a laptop/computer, so it's nice to have things be... simple.

To those who have used Linux, how is it in gaming? Does it work with most programs/games or do you have to find conversion software or special editions of these programs like you do with Mac?

It's up to the game producers. Companies tend to focus on Windows meaning that most disk-based games won't work on Linux based OS, but that's not because games can't work on Linux, it's just because game developers choose not to release them for Linux.

Most non-game programs are available in the repositories from which it is extremely easy to install them. Sometimes it's not the same programs though, for example, gedit instead of notepad.

I've certainly considered Linux because of it's customization and personalization. It seems like a solid OS. More suited for regular Desktop work though.

I kinda figured that producers wouldn't support Linux as it has a much smaller user-base than Windows or Mac. Hopefully that can change one day!

Mac OS/X is a pretty solid web-surfing OS. Since I'm more used to Windows I find it harder to use and confusing at times. I always know where to look in Windows to find what I need, but a lot of times I'm stuck on my Mac looking for where things are.

13.72 billion years in the making.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

At home, I use a Mac, and it's quite the reliable machine. I don't PC game, so it doesn't matter to me that it's a gaming-limited computer. At school, we all have PCs, and I'm fine with those, too. I honestly don't care what sort of computer it is.

Does it get me on the internet? Is it fast?

Yes?

Then I don't care who made it.
