My feet are the same size and I've been skating since I was 5. Some twenty years now.
If you are learning it just to cruise around (no tricks), I'd recommend a long board. They're better for cruising and have a "surfing on land" feel to it.
Wow, sounds like you've got a lot of expierience! And I am hoping to learn skating to do tricks and a bit of cruising, around here mostly everyone who skates just gets a longboard (Most of them live beachside, it's common for them)
Yep. In high school I was all about dem tricks.
But some pretty nasty falls during and after college, and now I just ride around. I'm nowhere near the level of a professional skater, so for me as I am now, I see no reason for me to be doing tricks.
I just love getting on it and cruising down the street.
And I have my dog pull me on it now.
