All that is needed for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

I don't own any and have no desire to, living in suburban American, having no reason for one and what not.

Just throwing this out there...

When I was young, I used to be a vegetarian; for 7 years in fact. My reasons were that I thought that the meat industry was inhumane/morally and all that. However, I have never disagreed with honourable hunting (By which I mean go out, track, kill cleanley and use all of the animal. None of this driven bird shooting or killing 17 elephants to make a really nice toothpick or whatever you kids do these days)
A hunter and prey is exactly how the world works, how it has always worked, and how it will work if all our infrastructure were to collapse.
To me the inhumane institutionalised slaughter was the real bad thing. And what I thought was the worst part of all was that people so willingly detach from that fact, as if it was morally right 'not to think about it' and that you're 'psychopathic' or 'evil' or whatever, if you did.

Anyway, the point is: man up and stop trying to convince yourself that you're a good person because you're not in favour of hunting.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

None. It's for the safety of everyone around me, apparently EVERYONE in the past 8 years responsible for gun crimes did it because of the influence of video games...

Loljk, I live in England and we tend not to cling to the past as much as some countries do.

Not understand the necessities of farming doesn't make you a good person either.

UK and proud

Guns are legal.
just that the UK has a ton of restrictions..

With a section one firearms licence you can get:
Bolt action rifles of any calibre (50 cal is fine)
scilencers
Semi automatic rifles including designs based on assault rifles so long as they chamber .22 cartridges
Assault rifles without recoil mechanisms (essentially bolt action)
you can even get a semi auto .22 1911 with a fixed silencer (this extends the barrel enough so that it is considered a rifle)
And a shotgun licence gets you any shotgun with a limited magazine (I think that is 3 shells so long as one is in the chamber)

not understanding how nuisance animals with no natural predators on the continent destroy farmland and crops does make you a bad farmer though.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_boar#Aggression_towards_hum ans

they cause about a billion dollars in land damage a year in texas alone.

they can carry over 30 diseases and parasites(communicable to pets, livestock, humans, contaminated[by the hogs] water sources) many requiring medical treatment, some like rabies are fatal.

they are aggressive to humans in north america. they will charge you and try to eat your legs while you're still alive and fighting.

if they gore you with 6" tusks, they can down you or hospitalize you easily.

they naturally breed faster than they can be killed with about a litter every 8 weeks.

they can attack children or pets.

the only thing slowing them down is hunters.

and who funds the majority of the conservation programs in the US? hunters, due to the 11% excise tax in place.

That's nice. Actually used in war/surplus?

As for myself, I have a Mossberg 870, a .357 revolver(Think it is S&W), and an old hunting rifle of unknown origin.

I am not mentally disturbed therefore see no reason to own guns.

I would say you are mentally disturbed, then.

Because.... it's a freaking hobby, and some people live out in the woods. And some people like to hunt..... and it's a hobby. And people like to hunt.

Please just stop. I really hope you don't think people hunt because they don't know things called supermarkets.

So it's ok to take pleasure in killing things if it is just a hobby?

Good ol murica.

But it's ok for business? Or are you vegan/vegetarian? I am, I don't hunt, and I still own guns for protection. I am far from mentally disturbed but I can clearly see you are naive.

I live in the suburbs and have used a firearm to save lives. Location does not mean you won't have to protect yourself someday. Home invasions can happen anywhere.

Don't generalize us as gun owners. Darwins theory of evolution refers to the survival of the fittest. Lets see you survive in a world where there are no supermarkets.

Guns do not make you the fittest, they make you a coward.

Congratulations on proving how dumb you are. Guns have given everyone a voice. I suppose an old woman using a gun to fend off a knife attack is a coward now. Guns give you the ability to control an otherwise dangerous situation. You are just a fool. An absolute fool.
