Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

Halo 4.

What've we got? Colour. Fun movement speed and jump height. Better gunplay and audio.

Well, I was just thinking about the moment-to-moment gameplay of MP, but Halo 4 is superior to Reach in a metric -blam!--ton of ways.

Hmmm, I don't know what to say...

It really burns to say this, but Reach. Halo 4's lack of features that even Reach had makes it less playable. Reach's campaign is much more replayable (I only feel like playing Midnight if I ever feel like going through Halo 4's campaign). Plus, I have a lot of nostalgia not for the Reach gameplay itself but for its atmosphere.

Halo Reach. Sorry, Halo 4 but if I wanted to play an arcade game I would play Call of Duty.

Anyways, Reach has more replayability. You have more custom options, you have a matchmaking system that updated every month, campaign theater, campaign scoring, the ai aren't as dumb as Halo 4 they actual try to dodge your bullets, easier to glitch out of the level in Halo Reach compared to Halo 4(-blam!- rocks and kill barriers), Halo Reach had you learn the spawn times and spawns of weapons, I honestly could go on. There is so much missing from Halo 4 that honestly, I don't know if it is worth keeping anymore. I keep coming back to Reach and Halo 3, and all I want to do with Halo 4 is snap it and put it in the cat liter. That is all it is worth, poop.

I agree though I will wait till the rank system and Competitive playlists come out before I decide whether to sell it.

Honestly, rank systems only work if the game is competitive which means they would have to get rid of all the gimmicks they have. I am not sure if there is going to be a competitive playlist, though because didn't MLG say they aren't going to do anything with Halo 4? I am not sure but I swear there was a thread on this site talking about MLG and Halo 4.
There is a mlg playlist in the works and Ghostayame said he is hoping to get it out soon.

Here is part 1 of an interview with him about halo 4

Halo 3 has the best matchmaking.

Halo: reach has the best custom games.

Halo 4 is -bIam!-.

Halo Reach had no good custom games. Halo 3 is where custom games were at,.

OT: between Reach and 4, I have to pick 4.

Halo Reach has a much higher skill gap compared to 4..

It's true, you can clearly tell a good player from a bad player in Reach, not so much in Halo 4.

Not really, bloom and the clearly unbalanced sandbox killed most of the skill gap Reach had. The TU didn't solve everything, just gave everyone an even more overpowered DMR. At least Bungie got the Pro-Pipe right though.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

You are forgetting weapons mapping, and weapon spawns. Something Halo 4 is missing. Also, everyone spawns with different weapons, perks, and gets power weapons dropped to them? Why? Why did they think it was a good idea? All that causes is more randomness and less map movement and/or less reasons to go out. That was not a good idea. I would still say Reach had more of a skill gap just because of how the game works in Halo 4.

I also heard they may be doing a classic playlist with remake forge maps.

Glut of power weapons and lackluster sandbox balancing.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Reach is teh best.

  • 01.05.2013 4:13 PM PDT

You look around. You fire your weapon before you realize.
Its just me. I fall and you walk up. You cry why.
When i pop up. You look at me in wonder. I say,"ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL."
You bend to my will and go to a cliff, walk off, and fall.
The last thing you hear is me stating as fact,"All will fail the battle of life, you just went early"

Halo 4, because Reach sucked.

  • 01.05.2013 4:14 PM PDT

Do you like Green Eggs and Ham???

Depends, we talking pre or post TU Reach

I was exited for the TU, but the Needler Rifle with no bloom was -blam!- insane.

I agree with how the excess of power weapons sometimes gets annoying and ridiculous. But taking away that, the weapons are surprisingly more balanced compared to other halos. At least now you can hold your own with a covie-forerunner weapon.

I hate my gamertag AND my B.net name.

I largely prefer Halo 4 over Reach. I mean really, it's just a little better.

I still see by far a DMR/Bolt majority.

You got stuck by FalconStickr

You canty compare the two with the vast difference both games are from one another. Reach was epic IMO but Halo 4 is good as well.

You always could. Besides that in Halo Reach I like using the NR because it was more efficient than the DMR besides the awesome explosion you get after the third shot(I would sometimes purposefully miss the headshot just to see the explosion it caused). The plasma pistol, and the blueberry gun is awesome same with the concussion weapon. I believe the plasma pistol, was the same as the CE version in that it could take down shields as well as kill someone with ease(if you don't suck ass). The needler also gets props because well, it was always devastating, and I would be a fool to never pick up that weapon. The pistol, helped when taking down people with DMRs.

The only weapon I saw that was useless in the sandbox was the Plasma rifle(Reach), spiker(Reach), and Plasma repeater(Reach).

Halo 4 feels more competitive and has a better ranking system IMO. I actually couldn't play Reach for more than a game or two in it's later days without rage quitting.

  • 01.05.2013 4:40 PM PDT

One does not simply trolololol into Mordor.

I'm just gonna say that the Storm Rifle is everything the Plasma Repeater should have been.

Reach stayed fun longer, Custom games is my favorite part of Halo. halo 4 doesn't have very good custom games, few game modes, etc.
