Since Halo 4 introduced us to a Master Chief that regularly talks, perhaps Halo 5 will introduce us to a Master Chief that has a personality. What would you like to see?

Honestly, I have no idea how 343i is going to pull off the story and MC for Halo 5. They better not make him so emotional again. It's just an AI, yes he was attached to her, but still...

And when Lasky said "I've lost people, but never like anything you're going through" I almost cringed. Yes we get Cortana is important, but she is not a living entity and should not be valued more than even a single human life. I can understand Chief being depressed about everyone in New Phoenix who was composed though.

"Wait. What do you mean, it's dead?"
"If marijuana is not legal within the next five years I have no faith left in humanity, period. Everyone likes smoking weed. They have for thousands of years. They're not going to stop anytime soon. You know? It makes everything better. Makes food taste better, makes music better. It makes sex feel better for God's sake. It makes -blam!- movies better you know?"

Just depressed. I'm more interested in whether he'll have new armor or keep his old war torn armor.

"Again?" The only time Master Chief has ever gotten emotional in a Halo game is Halo 1's "ENOUGH!"

...do you know nothing of Halo's story ? Chief and Cortana had been through so much, from reach to installation 04, the return to reach, new mombasa, installation 05, leaving her on high charity then most of Halo 3 looking for her again

it's like losing your dog to old age

What about Keyes (both) and Johnson? Weren't Johnson and Chief along with each other for a good amount of time as well (sorry, this Halo fan has not read the books)?

That's what I take Lasky's saying as. Not only did he lose Cortana but he's lost everyone that he's ever been close to. Anyone would be depressed after that. Chief may be the lucky one but he's unlucky in that regard.

He should be getting tired, but kinda conflicted as to what else he could do - He's pushing 50 and he's been a soldier since the age of six.

The thing is, this is sorta brought on by loneliness - he misses Cortana, because she's been the voice in his head for years now, and she actually has a personality. They were more than just friends.

And the thing is, he's been used by the UNSC. Used for a noble cause, but to the new breed he's a legend and to the old breed he is a tool, and the people who respected him and he trusted are dead or few and far.

Because of this, he's probably going to get a bit antisocial. Probably have some trust issuses. Probably wonder where his place is now that he isn't the only thing holding humanity from the edge of extinction.

She was the result of a flash clone of Halsey, and AIs aren't usually made from flash clones of brains. This is what made her more human than AIs, and gave her a similar personality and characteristics to Halsey. Maybe Cortana reminded Chief a lot of Halsey, and Chief had a really close bond with Halsey, maybe that's why he grew to like Cortana so much

Spartan II Blue Team is still probably alive (one of the Spartan IVs mentions a member of that team, Linda, in a mission if you turn on the IWHBYD skull). One of the members is Kelly, who was the Chief's bff since he was six. Maybe 343 will throw Blue team in maybe not make Chief less upset?

Actually, one of the coolest characters in Halo fiction (I think)
is Lucy and her post traumatic vocal disarticulation.

I think it would be interesting if that for whatever reason, Chief wouldn't or couldn't talk anymore due to losing Cortana.

Of course, this wouldn't happen as he's spent nearly his entire life speaking and Lucy was still a child when she lost the ability.

Also, people would -blam!- and cry for no reason and say he's a cardboard character because they are too dumb to look for subtlety in behavior and such.

Did you read glasslands? She regained that ability. Her first word in years was NO!, and it was delivered while delivering her fist to Halsey's jaw, no less.

I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire eight shots or only seven?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a M6H Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the UNSC, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?
