I don't see why people would flip off a guy who spends his time making their lives safer.

Stupid. People should respect authority. Flipping them off should be illegal, as should verbal disrespect.
I've no particular hate for cops, but your idea seems pretty purposeless and disproportionate.

ITT People hate on cops because clearly all cops should get flipped off constantly.

ITT: Cops aren't above the law.

Did I ever say they were? They're people too. They get all kinds of needless hate for what they do that it's sickening to me.

Needless? No matter how good a cop is, they ALL enforce unjust laws. When they do something despicable there should be outrage, whether they're wearing a badge or not is meaningless to me.

Typical anti-government person. All laws are unjust huh? How's the law that's allowing you to say that without worrying about getting killed by the big bad government unjust?

Idiotic response. Where did I say all laws are unjust? Just the ones that infringe on our liberties.

As for the second part of your post, there is no such law. That is a fundamental right which comes from our humanity. Did you think the government granted us that? ha!

Considering certain expressions of speech could get you killed throughout most of history (and still today in some places), I'd say the government granted you that.

HAHAA! Again, respect has to be earned. So we shouldn't be allowed to flip anyone off? Check out the first amendment sometime. The government is limited, they get their powers from us, they can not do anything you or I can not do.
First amendement has its limitations.

Police officers are the embodiment of law & order. If people show direspect to them, it breaks the foundations of our society. Those people should be arrested and punished.

Only if what you're doing is going to cause direct harm to another.

No they are not, responsible citizens are. We should ALL be the police and soldiers. Police are nothing more than glorified investigators and I'd want a private investigator at that point.

Not all cops do that, some even cause more harm than good. And there are plenty of responsible citizens that make our lives safer, they don't deserve special treatment either, although courtesy is never a bad thing.

Then please show me some unjust laws.

Did you think the government granted us that? ha!And you think the government could kill people for saying things it didn't like? Sure it could. Many countries already do. They did not grant us that right they acknowledged it as one of the rights all humans have. They recognized that they cannot kill people because they say the government is bad and because they did so we can criticize the government without fear of retribution.

NDAA, PATRIOT Act and drug laws to name a few horrendous ones.

The second part of your post just seems to agree with me? Government nor the Constitution granted our rights, they are automatic and inalienable. The Constitution merely acknowledges our rights and serves to limit government power. We also can not grant a power we ourselves do not hold.

The excerpt from the video does nothing to support your claim. I'm well aware of the constitution. The fact that tyranny can exist is what makes my claim valid. Freedom of speech is not a human right, it has been granted to you by the people in power, hence the government. And governments can just as easily take it away. Hence monarchies, dictatorships, theocracies, etc.

That would be called tyranny, and I've already explained that does not prove you right. It's our duty to protect our liberties, I have the freedom to say whatever I want.

"A free people claim their rights as derived from the laws of nature, and not as the gift of their chief magistrate."

"The majority, oppressing an individual, is guilty of a crime, abuses its strength, and by acting on the law of the strongest breaks up the foundations of society."

"It is strangely absurd to suppose that a million of human beings, collected together, are not under the same moral laws which bind each of them separately."

"The policy of the American government is to leave their citizens free, neither restraining nor aiding them in their pursuits."

"Every citizen should be a soldier. This was the case with the Greeks and Romans, and must be that of every free state."

-Thomas Jefferson

Your mindset is the problem, and people like you is why this country is becoming so backwards.

Respect the position, but not always the person.
Yes, but do you even know the cop you are showing hatred towards? The mayor tells the police departments that they need to get "x" amount of tickets this month. Yes, cops will give you a ticket if you break the law, they want to keep their jobs so they can provide for their families.

btw I'm not saying this to you, I'm just going off your quote.

Actually you didn't explain anything. You made a baseless claim and linked a video that gives information of what should be common knowledge. Also, I never said you didn't have the freedom to say what you want, I said it was granted to you by the government.

But I can see I'm obviously wasting my time.

NDAA, PATRIOT Act and drug laws to name a few horrendous ones.

NDAA: You mean that whole detain people indefinitely one or the general specify military spending ones? I'll assume the first and say that an average police officer cannot pick someone out of a crowd and detain them. The order has to come down from the president. If it goes that far it is because they have serious evidence that a person has been suspected of terrorist acts.
Patriot: Those less restrictions apply to gathering information on terrorists. Not just whoever they feel like.
Drug acts: Should people have the freedom to ruin their own bodies with drugs? Sure, why not?

The second part of your post just seems to agree with me? Government nor the Constitution granted our rights, they are automatic and inalienable. The Constitution merely acknowledges our rights and serves to limit government power. We also can not grant a power we ourselves do not hold.

Yeah I know.

And your right, we really shouldn't automatically hate cops unless one individual cop does something to abuse us. Then we can hate that particular individual cop, but to hate every single one seemslike prejudice.

It is like hating someone without even knowing who they are which can lead to trouble.

A police officer can't pull you over and arrest you just because you gave him the finger.
Uh what now? Funny how things change. I remember when this issue was huge on the debates. Still wouldn't do this anyway. Well, maybe I would if the cop.. ohh I don't know for example one time... ALMOST 'T-BONED' MY CAR. Or even CUT ME OFF TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ONLY WHEN HE WASN'T EVEN IN THE TURN LANE.

Side note, I can't believe I posted this news article BEFORE Recon. WOO!

Thoughts on this new appeal by courts?
Don't worry.. I'll be one of those Cops that actually know how to drive properly. If I see the middle finger though.. I'll pull you over and then ask why you flipped me off.. Then give you a big hug and buy you a drink sometime. ; )

1.They actually don't need any evidence, they just have to claim they believe you are a terrorist.
2. And it still led to the arrest of an 80something year old woman and her 76 year old assistant.
3. I'm glad you agree.

Except they infringe on it quite often, they do nothing to protect it, they know too much infringing leads to revolution, they try to be VERY careful.

my uncle is a sheriff's deputy and he says he gets flipped off all the time. He just says it's part of the job. He said he'd flip cops off too if they were camping out behind the overpasses too.

Not all cops are as easy going as my uncle though...
