The original series, and it was actually pretty good. I mean it is like 40 years old, but the plots are solid, the acting isn't too terrible as long as Shatner isn't in the limelight, and the characters are actually pretty interesting. Thoughts?

We work in the dark to serve the light.

SPOOOOOOOOCK!

I've seen Star Trek II and III, but I'm too scared of watching the series for fear of becoming a Trekkie.

From the ashes

Well, it spawned a franchise for a reason. I barely remember any of the original series. What I do remember was always very interesting. Thankfully even Shatner got better after this, lol. I think it is because of this show, that I have such a fascination for space and what lies beyond our comfortable borders.

Hmmm, I think I may need to look into getting the DVD's for TOS and TNG now.

Shatner doesn't do a bad job acting...

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

You should watch TNG. It's the best series.

And Picard > Kirk.

back when I bought them, they were around $60 for a season.

with TNG having 7 seasons it adds up.....

Or you could just get amazon prime and watch all of the episodes on there. I think netflix has them too, but I haven't had netflix for like the past 2 years.

The dvd collections are really nice though, and they come with bonus content. If you like that kinda stuff, or if you like Trek that much.

They should be less now, but the BLU-Ray ones are super awesome too.

I've watched all of TOS, and a bit of TNG.

From what I've seen, I like TOS better.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

Right, looks like I'll need to budget for this than.

To stay on topic though, I think one of the episodes I liked best was, City on the Edge of Forever.

BTW

I've seen every episode twice.

of every series....

Deep Space 9 is probably the most difficult start any of the series had.

you'll have to learn to love that one...

I've heard City at the Edge of Forever is the best episode and honestly, none of my friends have watched the series since it's considered nerdy, so I don't really have anyone to talk to abou it, so honestly, thanks for the info so far, guys.

So you are caving to peer pressure to not watch star trek...

That's like the best reason TO watch star trek! You don't have to go to conventions and pretend you are an alien. Just watch the show and enjoy it.

Your friends will miss out on like 400 hours of awesome sci-fi.

Haha that's my reason for watching it! I mean I still want to try out Doctor Who and Firefly, but I don't know how those are going to go.

Lots of things are considered nerdy, games were once considered nerdy. Gotta embrace that inner you at some point man. And if they heckle you, just vulcan nerve-pinch them!
