Statements below are all purely hypothetical:

There are 7 Halo installations

1
2
3
4
5
6
7

Different size, different frequencies

There's a installation 9, which is on Earth

http://www.flickr.com/photos/34008449@N00/183973220/

Plus one on High Charity

http://img148.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1218iq.jpg

But installations don't have to stop here, there might be even more.

We know Halo kills. What do the other ones do?

Maybe these ground ARKs are like protective installations, doing the opposite of Halo Installations. Saving some life forms after the Halos do it's job.

Also, the Earth Ark is located in Africa, where human came to be, so this could mean that the
Earth Ark spured Humans
while the High Charity Ark Spured the Covenats.

Maybe, now thinking about it, if High Charity is indeed another ARK, then it might be installation 08.

I think Ark_09 means it was going to be on level 9, but maybe you're right on that.

But I can't tell wtf you're trying to get across with your evidence picture that HC is an Ark...

I am...whimsical today.

GS referes to the Ark in the singular, indicating there is only one.

The thing on High Charity is a ship.

That's not my pic, someone else did that, neverthless, it's still very evident that the top of HC look almost exactly like the ARK, more from the inside.

The whole structure is holding a ship. GS did say THE ark, but it doen't mean there arn't others.

e.g. I'm going to get the icecream (doesn't mean other icecreams doesn't exist)

I suppose so, but it kind of implies that there's an important icecream near at hand (lets use popsicle for now, as icecream can be a little ambiguous).
Personally I'd say a popsicle, rather than the popsicle. If there was more than one popsicle in your freezer would you say the popsicle?

Hmm... interesting popsicle parody...
Well, as a rebutle: Yes, I would say "the" because it's more appropriate. If you're with your friends, would you say, I'm going to get "a" popsicle or "the" popsicle?

"I'm going to get a popsicle"

"a" could imply many things, among them would be that you're going out to get a popsicle

on the other hand

"I'm going to get the popsicle"

If you say "the", it would be rather clear that you already have a popsicle and you're going to get it out of your freezer, but it doesn't mean you can't have more than one.

So "a" and "the" can be both used here, with "a" being more murky and "the" being more appropriate without it meaning there's only one.

Beware of someone who posts something totally without meaning and give people the chance to respond and do exactly what was criticized in his original post. Idiot.

If it were 'the' Popsicle I'd assume that it had been talked about before, and that there was only one in the freezer. There was only one avaliable to you.

Yes, A can mean many things! Im going to get A popsicle, it means many things! I could be going to get A popsicle! OR im going to the store to get a popsicle! This totally supports my argument that A is plural!

I can't even use A grammatically correct with the word ark!

Im going to get THE popsicle but it means many things so it means im going to get 500 cups of melted oatmeal and a toaster oven.

Die.

Since when did it became YOUR argument?

This should make it clear:

"Why, the Ark of course." - GS
"Why, I'm going to get the Popsicle." (there can be other Popsicles.)

or

"Why, an Ark of course."
"Why, I'm going to get a Popsicle." (there can be other Popsicles also)

SO, You can use it either way, both can mean there's more than one.

Edit: Meaning there could be more than 1 Ark.
