“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
― Albert Einstein

I have the HP Envy 13 notebook. It features switchable graphics, it is supposed to automatically use Intel integrated graphics when on battery, and when plugged in, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330. But it is staying on Integrated graphics even when my laptop is plugged in, and when I go to switch it manually my screen goes black, I then have to either press my power button to engage sleep mode or shut off my computer. Any assistance would be appreciated.

If this is anything like Nvidia's Optimus, it should always use the Intel card and when some program requires a more powerful card the Radeon is turned on. It shouldn't have nothing to do with being plugged in or not.

All that is needed for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Make love to the USB slot.

Update your drivers.

After going through roughly 15 drivers I finally found one that works.
