I've got to say, over the past few weeks I haven't switched on my Xbox once, not even to redeem my new XBL subscription, because I finally started gaming on my PC. Modding Elder Scrolls Games, NS2, Planetside 2, Dawn of War and Killing Floor are the major offenders, with CSS, GMod and ZPS up there.
I have to say, I was blown away by how different, and once I'd sorted out control scheme, how much more advanced it was.
The fact that most of my friends are converting helps, I guess, but I just feel that console gaming is slipping away these days, there's no indie presence, you've all seen how basic Minecraft is on the 360 compared to the PC, and it just gets worse. I only really play video games socially, but when I've got exactly the same social circle, if not bigger now on PC than I do on Xbox live, its just turning me further away.
Unless the next gen consoles are capable of crazy amounts more, offer stupid amounts more than current gen high end PCs and competitively priced, I can't see myself going back.
Edit: Or if really good console exclusives come back in town. I'm not gonna lie, after two months of Halo 4, I'm angry and fed up of it. I did praise it in the first few weeks, but after glaring problems and balancing issues rooted themselves in, I just can't bring myself to go back. Halo 5 had better fix everything or I'll be a sad old panda.
