Lol at Americans getting butthurt over it.
You weren't even there! It was essentially a different nation! Why do you care if America lost?

It was a tie, if you say otherwise you're retarded. Especially if you use the "hurdur burnt down the capital" because using that logic both the UK and France lost WW2.

America? England? Or was it a draw? Who do you think won?
That's funny i don't remember England being in the war

Ofcourse you don't, you weren't there.

Don't be such a try hard. They said England, meaning the Brittish Empire. (Canada being a part of the British Empire back then).

Canada/ The British

We burnt down the white house.
It was too expensive for the USA to demolish it on their own to start a new one, so we had you guys do it for free!

If its the British Empire that was in the war then what has England got to do with it? It isn't even a sovereign state

I'm not arguing that you're incorrect. I'm just saying not to be so picky.

OT: You're still try harding.

America got humiliated.
A thirty-something-year-old country took on the biggest naval power in the world in a mostly naval conflict. The fact that the US didnt get totally reconquered is enough to call it a stalemate.
but the whole point of the bloody war for America was to capture and take over what is now Canada
that, and they were pissed at Britain for attacking American trade ships, kidnapping American sailors and forcing them to serve in the British navy. Guess they don't teach that tidbit across the pond.

Why are some Americans ITT trying to make America look like they won something or other?

I couldn't care less if Britain destroyed my country a billion times, I wasn't there, and I don't care.

'Κύριε Ἰησοῦ Χριστέ, Υἱὲ τοῦ Θεοῦ, ἐλέησόν με τὸν ἁμαρτωλόν.'

England obviously won to be honest. They had us at our knees and easily could have obliterated us if they wanted to, but due to the exhaustion and pressure of dealing with Napolean in Europe, they were lenient toward us and didn't move in for the kill. Probably because those bastards had already kidnapped more than enough of our sailors because Napolean was kicking their asses.

It was technically a draw considering that the war did not solve any of the conflicts that was the cause of the war, but both sides claimed victory. However, from what my history book says, the US won more major victories. But I still believe that it was a draw.

In truth, conquering Canada was the lowest on our list of objectives in the war. We saw it as a means of both forcing the British to cease the trade and maritime restrictions that they were implementing unlawfully on our ships (not to mention the fact that they were taking control of many of our ships, due to the British not recognizing British-born Americans as Americans and subsequently ordering them to relinquish their vessels that they were lawfully on and join the Royal Navy), and to warn the British that we didn't take too kindly to them arming the natives near what is today the American Northwest, which was impeding our expansion in our own territory.

Some people like to think that Canada played a much larger part of the war than it did, oblivious to the truth that, we initially just using them to get Britain's attention. However, the Canadians put up a much better fight than we thought they would.

Guess you forgot the fact Britain was busy kicking Napoleon's backside during the war of 1812.

So not only was we fighting the biggest threat of the era but we went across a large ocean and kicked your ass's to.

In America we say its a tie but in England they say they won but in all reality England didn't care about the war because they were too busy dealing with napoleon and felt that america stabbed them in the back for the war of 1812.
It's funny, every conflict Britain had with the Americans (Revolution and 1812) was seen as a mere annoyance and a side show because the conflicts happened when Britain was fighting a bigger war.

So America loves to brag about its fights with the UK but fail to see how insignificant they where. We lost the colonies? Oh well off to conquer Africa and Asia.

No it isn't. There is no English Army or English citizenship. There isn't even an English government

because Napolean was kicking their asses.
Excuse me? Britain was fighting Napoleon for 10 years straight and PAYED for it's allies to field armies.

So not only did Britain beat the French out Spain but they technically beat Napoleon in the rest of Europe to. If Britain didn't pay for its allies to field armies Napoleon would have won.

With America at the time a portion of the 600 ship Royal Navy was sent to america and blocked aided the east coast and chocked the USA's economy to breaking point.

How ever we liked New England for not supporting the war effort and didn't block their ports.

Just checked and you seem to be right, it gave up its sovereignty in the act of union.

Then again it's normally people being confused with the UK being a country.

They were significant enough for Britain to start or necessitate both of them. The invasion of Canada, morally wrong as it was for us to do, only happened because Britain kept arming natives in United States territory, stopped our boats from trading with other countries, and impressed British-born Americans in an attempt to bolster their Navy numbers.
