Subject: Questions about computer monitors

So I'm running a dual monitor setup here, using an http://www.amazon.com/HP-VS17E-17-LCD-Monitor/dp/B000EYEOC2/r ef=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357506590&sr=8-1&keywords= HP+vs17e] "HP vs17e" for the left and an http://www.amazon.com/Acer-X193WB-19-LCD-Monitor/dp/B001917HF A/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1357506728& ;sr=1-1&keywords=acer+x193w+monitor] "Acer x193w" for the main screen.

I have two main questions about these. Both monitors are LCD's, but the HP has crisp, crystal clear imaging and text, as if it were on paper. The Acer on the other hand, has noticeably less quality to its imaging and the text is much harder to read. Can anyone explain why?

My second question is a recommendation for a replacement monitor for the Acer. It's recently showing signs of degrading like duplication and blurring. I feel like I'm blind while using it. If you have a monitor that has amazing quality to it that will last a long time, please share!

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Are you running the Acer at 1440 x 900?

Different resolutions, as already stated.

What resolution are you running the Acer at? Also have you tried using a different VGA cable? The one you have now might quite frankly be crap.

It better be at 1440 x 900 or I'm going to punch you OP.

Its at 1600 x 1200. I don't see 1440 x 900 when I go to resolutions at the Display section. And any lower than this resolution, the monitor turns off and reads "no input supported".

Then that is why it looks like hell.

There should be an ability within the graphics driver to manually set specific resolutions and refresh rates. Try to find that and run the Acer at its default and best supported resolution.
