In a way I'm glad we know the end of the darkness is near, but at the same time, This going to be crazy for the community until bungie.next hits. We are going to go insane with checking the website even more than we already do now.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

This is upsetting. Bnet is so visually appealing, clutter free and easy to understand. It's simplicity and clean look is what make Bnet forums some of the best around. Most forums are a huge eyesore, so I'm not really looking forward to an update.

Just wait and see what happens. Bungie is good about this stuff and they know we like the site, but it is ready for an update.

Didn't urk say we will give feedback for it? I know they will listen and if need be change things.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

It seems it is definitely at most in a few weeks. Could even be Friday or this week. I am sure everyone is back to work right now setting the final preparations for a trailer/site update.

@spawn031

"So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it's gratifying to have something you have done linger in people's memories." John Williams

If anyone remembers "Tuesday Night Maintenance" back from the webteam's older days, maybe we'll see a repeat gesture. If you don't know what what means, it occurred mostly during the Halo 2/3/ODST and some of Reach's era. The webteam would routinely have maintenance on bungie.net once a month on Tuesdays, sometimes more often.

Bungie.net was shutdown so no one could sign in, or even view the homepage. It was replaced with "The site it under maintenance, we appreciate your patience" or something along those lines. It usually takes place starting at 9pm Bungie Time on Tuesday nights.

By the next morning, everything would be up and running with whatever they added/changed. However, I feel that a complete website overhaul, would take more than just a couple hours. The last major update was from the Halo statistics I believe.

Example from Achronos
Here's another
Community thread about it
runningturtle writes an article

Keep in mind that the webteam has their own schedule and none of us know what is actually going to happen. I'm simply showing what has happened in the past.

Lady Astor: "If I were your wife I'd put poison in your coffee."
Winston Churchill: "If I were your husband I'd drink it !"

Thats a good point Spawn, I would expect something similar to that, maybe they will give us a heads up beforehand or do you think it will come down with something similar to "The site is under maintenance" except it will be more relative to the update - something like "Soon..." or similar

What are you date predications?

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Its been an honor posting with you.
