Subject: What would Star Wars had been like...

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

...had it been made recently?

Say George Lucas hadn't made Star Wars, and another director made it recently. What would that movie be like?

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

Depends on which movie.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

Like if Disney had it from the beginning?

Or Michael Bay?

Depends on the movie and director. I wonder if Quentin Tarantino made all 6 movies, how would it turn out?

  • 01.06.2013 8:48 PM PDT

I think it really depends on the director, like, that means it could be directed by Michael Bay or Christopher Nolan, the possibilities are practically endless.

  • 01.06.2013 8:48 PM PDT

Do you really want to know?

What if Peter Jackson directed the Star Wars series?

It wouldn't be Star Wars. If Lucas didn't make it, what chance would their be of someone creating a movie anything remotely identical to Star Wars?

A New Hope, Episode IV.

Depends on the director.

Micheal Bay: lots of slow mo and explosions.

CGi, splosions.

More CGI, and not as beloved as it is now. Definitely not as beloved.

No, leave the classics alone.

Well, I've been economical with the truth.

Probably the same effect as lets say....Avatar had, flashy flashy but after a year very forgettable. Would have still earnt the money to make a sequel though.

i'm not saying a remake.

Pretend that Star Wars hadn't been made in the first place. Now say the script was found, and a modern director took a swing at it.

What would that be like?

Metal breakfast.

Probably a lot more "realistic" and "dark" and as a result it would lose some of its charm, at least in my opinion.

Ignore my gamertag. It's actually Dragonzzilla.

I don't think it would have made such a big impact. It was groundbreaking for its time.

It would be like other modern sci-fi films - Luke would lose his farm-boy attitude for a rebellious teen attitude, there'd be a lot more explosions, CGI aliens that look unoriginal, shaky cam, and the universe would be filled with lots of lights (inexplicably everything in the future glows or has a glowing part). Oh dear, it sounds like I'm describing the prequels... We wouldn't have the title crawl either, and it wouldn't say in a galaxy far, far away. It would lose its wholesome nature I'd think, and become a generic action sci-fi film focused on being gritty and 'real'. Who knows though...

I think that if it was made today that it would be a cgi fest like transformers.

  • 01.06.2013 9:14 PM PDT

I think a better question is would your enjoyment of movies and games be improved if there was no World Wide Web Internet soapbox of armchair critics and reviews?

  • 01.06.2013 9:15 PM PDT

+1 for you good sir.

Honestly, I don't think it'd be as big as it was in the 70's(?). Star Wars as a whole was so big in pop culture media and so influential, we wouldn't have many of the things we have today without it.

If it were made today, it'd be cool for a year then probably wash away with all the other movies Hollywood is relentlessly throwing out there.

Ah. That means a completely different style, actors, action. Everything would be different. I'm actually kind of curious now...
