hmm it would be really hard to find the sniper that way

i would keep the trails...i mean, they had them in the first 2 games

without the trails it would be pretty hard to find the sniper

  • 07.07.2006 3:50 PM PDT

I think it would be cool if they made it look more like a tracer round and less of a smoke trail, as bullets don't leave smoke or vapor trails.

No.

So, you want the sniper to be damn near unstoppable on big maps. A sniper would stomp everyone on Coag, Containment and Headlong.

And as far as realism, You are a cyborg being that can flip over a tank. If you want realism check out splinter Cell

yes i know it was put in for balance, but i think that it could bring more strategy to the game, teams could set up better defenses especially in capture the flag/ assault games

Actualy, bullets DO leave vapor trails. The Special Forces sniper units use a specialy designed sniper rifle with bullets that leave vapor trails behind them from the force of them cutting through the air so the shooter can track the trajectory of the projectile in order to make adjustments to their next shot. Even some civilian rifles will leave a vapor trail, so it is realistic and should be left in the game. Im surprised at your lack of knowledge to such real life facts, especialy from someone who's user name is Spec-Ops-Assault. Pitiful.

There is a difference between realism and practicality.

Yes, you are right. Leave the trails in there, its realistic.

I'd like to see these bullets. Never heard of them. And Spec Ops is just a name, not any real definition of my knowledge of weapons. In all tru7h, uh Spec Ops is a name from H2, remember? I will be in touch with my weapon afficianados to confirm or deny this claim. Pitiful.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

How is that more strategic?

It's more like camping with a cowards weapon and being afraid of close combat to me!

It would suck, but by definition isn't that what a sniper is? He hides and no one can find him. Why would you want a sniper rifle that gives your position anyway. Or any gun for combat anyway. Uh, special forces with bullets that show where they are shooting from. Good for practice, bad for combat. It's still good to balence the game though.

No sniper trails would make legenary so much harder, not being able to see where those jackal snipers are from their fire would be retarded.

Trails are good.

Yeah, I've seen a Barrett fired (it's a sniper for those of you who may not know), and there's a loud bang but no trails, well, I guess that goes for every other gun out there as well, but you get my point.

Well, technically a sniper shot would give a sniper's position away anyways. The direction of the bullet and from which the boom originated is enough, most of the time anyways.
