Only come here if you like 'Too deep for you' platformers. Jk.

Who else likes to play indie games? They're almost all I play these days. What are some of your guys favourite games?

Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

Indie games give me the variety I need in games. I love indie games.

Obviously, Sturgeon's Law applies and 90% of everything is crap, but that remaining 10%, like TvTropes says, is truly worth dying for. To The Moon is one of the best stories I've ever experienced, in a game or otherwise.

Video games are great story telling platforms, and I am a lover of story telling.

Not to mention that a lot of the simple indie games can be really, really fun as well. Cortex Command is absolutely hilarious. You can make an orbital bomb out of crabs, which pretty much sold the -blam!- game to me.

I'm quite a fan of Audiosurf.

Can play it the whole day if I can.

To The Moon is a great game. I actually felt emotionally attached to River and Johnny. When Eva started -blam!- about with the timeline I actually got pissed at her. Luckly it all worked out in the end.
Also the music in it is amazing.

I feel like it's physically impossible not to, as long as you understood the plot/were paying attention. The only times I've ever seen someone not enjoy it was when they weren't interested in the first place and didn't pay attention to anything.

Of course. I would be worried about myself and the safety of others if I had not.

I like how this turned into a To The Moon appreciation thread.

Lets talk about some other great Indie Games. Like Bastion, or Hotline Miami, or FTL, or Thomas was Alone, or Limbo, or Binding of Isaac, or...

And for anyone who has no idea what we are on about, go buy and play To The Moon. Seriously.

The world is full of mysteries, and shares too few of the answers required. An example of which, is how did I end up in the Brute Zone?

Indie games give me a refreshing edge to gaming when I'm bored of the mainstream.

Indie games are amusing, as you never know if the game is going to be cute and charming or horribly designed and flawed. Each amuse me in different ways.

I really like FTL if that counts. Katawa Shoujo is pretty good, too.

Bastion and LIMBO.

Amazing games. Bastion is one of the best games I have ever played. And the -blam!- soundtrack, the people of Caelondia sure knew how to carry a tune.

Jew Man: Im not a huge fan of Braid. could never get the hang of it. give it a try though.

Why?
The Ecchi?

I've never been more attatched to characters in a game. I shed tears during Lily's, Rin's and Hanako's Story arcs.

  • 01.07.2013 2:16 AM PDT

I actually ordered some stuff from SuperGiant Games' website, and one of the items is the soundtrack. I'm so excited, and I like supporting indie teams especially them since they definitely deserve it.

Rin's was the only one that kept me captivated throughout its entirety. What with her unorthodox nature, and the multiple possibilities and progressive elements of her story.

That Good Ending though, which I earned without any outside assistance... It felt nice. Pleasant.
