For the Jack/Miranda argument, make sure you have a full paragon or renegade bar before doing it. If you don't, side with Jack because Miranda lives if you choose her for team leader reguardless of loyalty.

It has to be full?

Good Lord.
It has to be full for a few things. Resisting Morinth's mind control aswell as the Jack/Miranda and Tali/Legion arguments

Tali/Legion argument didn't require full. I resolved it Paragon and am pretty sure even after that I still couldn't bring Jack 'round.

Yeah that was one of the flaws with Mass effect IMO. There is no middle ground, you are either evil or good. I think games like Dragon age that didn't have any of that Karma stuff got it right.

On my main playthrough this is how it went.

I think Tali and Legion requires 4/5 full

Currently studying Computer Science & Software engineering. Hope to work on mobile devices of the future! When a certain game's credits roll, look out for my name! ;)

You will -blam!- bricks when you see what game it is! =)

Pitty about Normandy's crew, only the doctor survived for me.

ME1 was the only one where you could be truly neutral, after that Mac Walters suddenly decided there should be more auto-dialogue and responses should be more strictly paragon or renegade. :/

Question before I start 3: Should I download Extended Cut ending first? Or playthrough then download? Any other (free) DLC?

Again, no spoilers please.

C'mon, apart from the ending, surely 3 isn't that bad?

My Stats-

ME1- Eight playthroughs
ME2- Nine playthroughs (even though I prefer ME1)
ME3- One playthrough, started second but couldn't be bothered to finish.

My memory might be a little fuzzy on the Tali/Legion thing I guess... I always sided with Jack because disloyal Miranda can't die if shes team leader.

Play it WITHOUT the Extended Cut first, experience how vague and poorly written the ending was at first. Then download the Extended Cut, when you finish the game you go back to a save before the penultimate mission so you don't have to play through the whole thing again.

It'll make you appreciate the EC more, but still recognise that it made a lot of things WORSE than they were before.

If you do Legion's mission right after you get him and then do the final mission, you should still be able to save the crew.

What I loved about the EC was how it destroyed and entire character arc with one line.

I love how contrived and artificial the additional scenes are, especially the evac one. 5 seconds for the Normandy to arrive? Really?

Just get the Extended Cut first

A lot of people who played it without experiencing the original endings didn't hate it as much

For me the ending still sucks but that may be because I had to go through the original one like a lot of people did

SPOILERS

And Harbinger just sort of sits there wondering what to do.

Hmmm...

Should I destroy the ship that I fought for an entire game in this fifty six second appearance?

...

Naaaah...

<3 <3 The Sangheili have two hearts...

Jack died for me, too. I was disappointed that I lost someone, considering the fact that I tried to hard to save everyone, but the scene was just hilarious. They're running back, and there's just Jack's corpse. Layin' there.

Shepard, Garrus, and Legion kind of just glanced at it, like "awwww...OH HEY JOKER'S GONNA ORDER PIZZA!"

It was a good day.

If you look to your left, you'll see auto dialogue. If you look to your right, you'll see artistic integrity. If you look to the bottom where there are soldiers running, you'll see something out of 1975 gaming.

Look to the sky you'll see the Reapers illogically changing their original plan because *insert space magic/artistic integrity/speculation*

Secret option 3 DON'T PLAY IT!!! Before that game I was one of the guys who would spend £100 on a N7 watch! Now the game is just dead to me.

If there is no persuading you do the EC first.

PLEASE IGNORE THE CHILD, our artistic integrity demands he travel several miles in the space of 2 minutes on foot, evades Reaper troops, and survives an incineration strike on a building by hiding in a hazardous, electrocuting vent.

In my first playthrough Legion was carried away by the seekers. :(
The next time I did everything right and let Kasumi, Tali, Thane, Jacob and Jack die (Samara was already dead).
