Subject: Flood, what is it like to have your own family?

A real mushy question I know, but I'm aiming this at the older generation of the Flood.

What is it like to have your own family?

When you have kids, a loving wife (hopefully), and a place to call home - how does that make you feel? Proud? Happy? When you support your family on the hard earned money at work, knowing you can provide them with a great future. Then as life goes on, you'll see your children grow up and pass on through your home, but you're still living together with your wife 'till the end? How does all of this feel?

Note: When you return from work, you can actually say "Honey, I'm home!", one day I shall say thy words!

God that sounds boring. Can I just keep the wife and the money?

I loving having my own home. I love coming home to a loving husband every evening (or my husband coming home to me - whoever gets home first). I love having someone at my side, supporting me when no one else is there.

I love working, making my own money, supporting myself. I'm proud of myself, but I'm even more proud of my husband. I know in a few years, we'll have a couple of children together. We'll watch them grow and develop, and eventually move out. But I'll have my husband by my side through the entire adventure.

TLDR, It's amazing to have and support your family. Growing up doesn't have to be all that bad.

Never make me angry. I am a Hitman and I can easily find you and take you out.

I'm not sure if I want to have my own family anytime soon. I want to travel the world in a few years. And raising kids seems very hard.

Plus I can never get a girl. :/

Oooh, you are so nosy...

Funny thing to come back to this forum and find this thread as my last posting took place 2 months prior to me being a father. I guess that shows how occupy I was being a new parent.

I have a little girl. She's about to be 2 years old. It's only now that I can be more relax as she can do most things on her own now. I consider myself extremely fortunate. I was told I would lose sleep, be stressed and be always broke... Except she always slept when I slept and was just a very happy baby most of the time but damn kids are expensive.

In all honestly, I love being a father. My daughter looks exactly like me and having her brought me back to me being a baby and my family back then. It reminded me the feelings I had then of my family and the ambitions I had. To want to rekindle lost connections with family members and to go back to school. It's true that having a child will change you but how it will change you is left up to you.

So here I am. About to graduate in a month from now and closer than ever with my family. With my daughter still the happy go lucky girl I'm proud to have, who's about to be 2 in about the same time I'm done school.

Having a family may not be for everyone and I don't knock anyone not wanting to have any kids. It is a big and expensive responsibility. Sure I was afraid but then seeing her clicked something within me. Now I'm standing here a better man and hopefully with each day, becoming a better father. Thanks for reading.
