Each time someone stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. That hope is three little numbers: 1 - 1 - 7.

There is hope in us all. We gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face. We must do the thing which we think we cannot do; stand with the Master Chief and Finish this Fight!

Oh and by the way how long until the Europeans get it?

I would love it to come on the same day but life is too damn cruel sometimes, any ideas??

A great update, Frankie. I'm really looking forward to the Halo Graphic Novel, as many others are as well.

Great update! I especially enjoyed the parts about the customizeable playlists in matchmaking...that is sounding rather tasty. Also driving around all the vehicles? Which vehicles, may I ask, are you driving???

Wow, that Brute. You forget how huge they're supposed to be. If that soldier is 6 feet tall, the Brute is gigantic. It makes you wonder how tall Elites and Spartans are going to look in the graphic novel and film.

It reminds me of the Elite suit those guys made ages ago. That was cool too. Graphic Novel looks pretty damn good.

Our UI has come on in leaps and bounds. For a long time the UI development was happening separately from the actual game, so missions and other options would be chosen from a debug menu. Now the UI has been rolled into the game, so you can use it like a regular game interface for most things, and see it develop along with the rest of the game.

As it stands now, the interface is designed to make it very simple to get to a "lobby" and make all necessary changes from there - so that you can customize your experience, appearance, and more importantly, really specific game types from anywhere.

Folks who've played a lot of custom games know that it is very frustrating when the "Quick Options" selection just isn't enough to get all the options you want in a game type. You won't have to worry about that from now on. And you can also change your controller setting from anywhere, at any time. That one was a given, right?

This is obviously the barest kernel of what to expect from the new UI - and there will be a lot of goodies added to it between now and then. UI gurus Dave Candland and Colm Nelson were kind enough to give me a guided tour today and I can honestly say that I finally "get it." The problem with adapting to a new UI is the problem of familiarity. You expect things to behave the way they did in Halo 2 and when they don't, it's easy to think, "Oh, that's broken," when in fact, something has technically been fixed. And the sign of a good UI is that it only takes a couple of tries to get used to it, and that everything is found in its logical place.

Ok after reading that, I JUST WET MYSELF!

YEAAAAAAAA HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Bungie is going for almost complete customizing! Or it sure sounds like it! That’s true Power of a UI, making you feel like your in control, and it’s actually helping you, not fighting you! THank you thank you thank you!

What might be completely useless, but really cool, is to change you UI color. ( Like the menu,^^) The more I can control with my UI, and the more it helps me, the cooler the game feels, and the less I have to worry about; and focus more on the game play itself. What I am really hoping for though, is changing the UI Color for MP in the game. Purple for elites? >_< Why can’t it be green or white, or what my preference is? I don’t know, maybe I am a UI Junkie, but I can’t help it if I like flashy, stylish things! Knowing Bungie's skill on UI, this one is goanna be like the Mother of all UI.

Keep up the great work guys!

Dont get too wrapped up in the Internet. It's already forgotten about you.

I'm excited to hear about the new interface.

Let's hope that the controller will be FULLY customizable in Halo 3.

If Half Life can do it... why can't Halo?

If only everyone were as skilled as you, we wouldn’t need to dedicate so many resources as we do to stopping cheaters. Players that can sense when their opponent is reaching for the standby button and can then kill them to dust is the wave of the future.

thats an awsome picture of the Brute but is the isnt the sword on the of the brute shot upside down?
