Subject: So Windows 8 isn't bad as everyone says it is

Now go make me some tea.

I hesitated to try it out after hearing all the problems with compatability.

Well, I got W8, and it's surprisingly nice. It runs faster than W7, and uses alot less resources. Metro is also optional.

So, how are you liking Windows 8?

I'm sorry that I made you guys mad but I hate people that are muslim do to the fact that the quaran specifically says kill or convert the infidel. You can look it up if you want. I have a mild learning disability. And I am being serious that I have a mild learning disability. I'm in LLD classes for acedemics.

The only people who hate are the ones who don't know how to use it.

It's a fantastic OS.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Many things tend not to be as bad as people say they are, especially when dealing with something branded like Windows.

It's a good OS, some of the hate comes from people that think MS completely changed it to look like a mobile OS. That's only the start button people.

When it comes right down to it, Win8's problem is that it's just not worth it. The upgrades aren't significant enough to justify the money/effort, and the interface changes are just baffling.

It really shines with touchscreen.

I think touchscreen computers and regular computers deserve two different OS. Then you have the innovative new OS with those that are interested in innovative products (touchscreen computers) and an OS that closely resembles the old when dealing with touchscreen just isn't going to work (business environment).

STOP ASSAULT 2012

Pass the controller bro

It's not bad, just impractical and not worth the money.

Considering most of the hate about it is coming from Internet users that also are PC gamers I say it's justified. Sure, if all you're doing is browsing the Internet and doing standard things Windows 8 is fine, but for gaming Windows 8 is even worse than Vista.

I love Windows 8.

And I haven't found anything that wasn't compatible with it.

There is just something magical about leaning your head back, letting your eyes roll into the back of your head, and taking a piss while floating in the swimming pool.

I totally agree Windows 8 is excellent. BUT it only gets an excellent rating if you have a touchscreen monitor. If not since it is Windows 7 anyway not worth upgrading too.

I purchased the $40 Windows 8 pro upgrade to avoid the jacked up cost later in the year, knowing I would get a touch screen within the next year or so.

Windows 7 is in its prime no doubt so unless you have a touchscreen you can wait I think. With that said I'm not knocking Windows 8 especially comparing it to that horrid outsourced messed Vista.

This. When I tried it out at the store while waiting for a bus, I felt that it was cluttered and disorganized. Desktop mode wasn't that much better, either. It's not exactly bad, per se, but I don't see myself justifying a purchase of it. That, and I prefer Aero to Metro anyday.

Yes, I'm the guy who had the Flood admit to being furries.

Can it still run old games? And by old, I don't mean 2005, I mean 1995-2000 old.

That's exactly what Windows 8 is.

Yes, but Windows 8 is sold on laptops with non-touch screen compatibility. If I recall correctly, Microsoft said only about 10% of new laptops sold with Windows 8 were touchscreen compatible.

I'm saying there is no need to offer a Windows experience that is undeniably designed around mobile and touch to users with computers that have no interest in either.
