Why can't there be more than one dropship per team? It will balance it out more, one ship gets destroyed there is another to back it up. Its ridiculous how people whine that the dropship will not be balanced. Just put more rockets on the map, problemed solved, or more tanks or whatever. Dropships will make the game alot more fun and immersed in the Halo universe. It would be an awesome sight to see. And a vehicle doesn't have to be BALANCED with an infantry player (except for boarding it), that just ruins the game. Players should be afraid when they see a dropship or tank and hide, not be like "well since everything is balanced i can just take it out with my SMG no big deal" the player should use his or her head and avoid the vehicle simple as that.

If the person who isn't in the Dropship has to use his or her head, then the person who is in the Dropship should also have to use his or her head. If there are two Dropships for every team, then if one Dropship for one team gets destroyed, then the other one will probably also be taken out by people on the other team who are using their remaining Dropships to give them cover. If there are more Rockets or Tanks on the map, then it will be easier for the team that gets more of those than the other team to control the rest of the map. Everything else you said were just unjustified and ridiculous opinions.

why do you want the game to be so small? Dropships would just be like helicopters in any other game out there, they carry alot people can have a great arsnal, but they can be destroyed. I don't want the game to necessarily be small. I just don't want the game to be incredibly unbalanced, and Dropships are almost sure to make the game unbalanced. Although players can have many strong weapons in their bases, the enemies can steal them and have control over their own weapons that they spawned near. Making one or two mistakes can cause your enemies to have control of almost all of the weapons in a game, and the outcome of a game should not be determined by one or two mistakes. The best option for every map (big or small) is to have only a few very strong weapons on a map so that a team can't control the map easily. Including several Dropships in a map would cause the game to require several more very strong weapons, so there should probably one Dropship at the most in every map, and it should be very weak and quite small, even if the Dropships in the Campaign are very large.

I will, however, confirm that the Assault Rifle fires projectiles. At the moment, at least. We might just end up turning it into a melee-only weapon.

Guys when Halo3 comes out we ought to have at least 16 playes per person if not 24 or 32 so I belive that having a ship that can move 8-10 people quickly would be a must... I would definitly need a large map though..Problly bigger than Containment or Blood Gulch...

Oh and to everyone saying it would be bad because the other team can go steal it is a load of bull...If would make a game no more unbalanced than some of the stuff in Halo2... On coag if a team gets like the rocket, both snipers ,and both tanks you are screwed...But if you are a decent play you could wear them down and maybe kill the rockets or a sniper and eventually regain a balance...

I wouldn't mind on bigger maps, but if the multiplayer stays the same, it wouldn't be efficent, not enough people. It would be a nice addition for say Machinimas.

Having a ship that could ram into another player without allowing that player to even fight back that can move extremely fast and fly is unbalanced. You don't need a ship that can carry so many people. You could use teleporters or, as opposed to having one Pelican, bases could have two or three Warthogs or a couple of Spectres.

At least using the Sniper takes a little bit of skill, and players can fight back in Halo 2, but when there's a vehicle that can move so fast that by the time you can fire two Rockets at it, it's already ready to ram you to the ground, and it's so big that you can't even dodge it, then you can consider yourself dead.

When u play relic on assult and you, guy and a gunner all pile in the worthog to use it as a quicker way to get to the base what happens... though the power and magic of halo that car suddernly will get a magnetic field and attract every bullet, , rocket, plasma and rock in a 10 mile radius to collide into that worthog. The same will happern if they introduce dropships. Just bigger magnets.

what if the Dropships only had one level of height? like they take off and then stay at a certain height the whole time until it reaches its destination? but its turrets and rockets can still move by being operated by the other people inside (kinda like how a warthog turret operates)

Naw they already have teleporters, plus adding a dropship, I am thinking one sniper could take everyone out rather easy, its almost a guaranteed spawn point kind of thing.

Good idea, but I think its a bit flawed.

Just because you fix the immediate problem by adding more rockets, that still causes its own balance issues. Once the Pelican is down, one team has 2 or 3 rocket launchers ready to absolutely pulverize what remaining stragglers there are on the other team? That's not very balanced in my opinion. If the team without rockets is lucky, they'll be able to respawn at their own base before the other team comes storming on a counter attack.

i say each base comes equipped with anti-aircraft weaponry that can only be used against aerial vehicles. none of that shooting infantry crap with that thing.

that would help balance things out some.

maybe there could be little installations with anti-aircraft weaponry spaced all around the level.

Boarding a dropship, Jump on the turret, throw the gunner out and into a freefall, run into the cockpit and throw a nade at the controls and jump out b4 dropship crashes into the ground killing everybody. Passangers can kill the hijacker. but it wood b kewl or jump on the window and kill the pilot and crash the dropship killing its crew.

Even if only one team can pilot each group of Pelicans, once the Pelicans from one team is destroyed, then the team with remaining Pelicans would have huge advantage over the other team. Making it so that each Pelican can only be piloted by one team just ensures that the Pelicans that would remain go to just one team.

i hate halo. It is the worst game ever. Now, the best game ever would have to be BadBays2 Miami takedown. Now compaire halo to that. You will find that the game play is 1 million times better. You are a black guy running around miami. How much more fun is halo to that. I will tell you. NONE. There is nothing better than being a black cop in Miami killing some bad guys. In halo all you do is shoot aliens and people who are retarded and play halo. Now in badboys2 you kill some mexicans not stupid aliens. Now killing mexicans is sooooooooo much better than killing aliens. When you kill mexicans insted of blue blood they drop boritos that you can pick up and eat.
