I could maybe see these in busy building lobbies being used as a large info directory, but is that really enough to establish a market? Probably not. More to the point, I can see it being useful for all the things people said the original Surface was useful for, and we see how commercially viable that was . . .
Honestly, a decent PC with a Kinect and a large TV could do that right now, as long as someone would write a freaking application.
It would be easy and wouldn't even require a touch, just gestures and voice recognition.
I am very disappointed at how little innovation for common kiosk improvement has occurred since the Kinect came out. It is the right technology and device to make informational kiosks easy, helpful and fun to use.And just like that, kiosk-bombing would be born.
Oh look, that guy seems to be trying to find a tool store in the mall
