Subject: This seems excessively selfish to me.

There just aren't enough moments in the day to rectify the wrongs of the past.

I understand what you are saying, but I disagree with it. Were anything to happen to Mrs Charlie, I would be wrecked. I would do my best to be strong for her, but I don't know if I could be as strong as necessary. I used to think I was, then we had that minor stint in the ER after her surgery, and I don't know. I stayed up all night holding her hand, not because that was needed from me, but because I was scared of losing her.

Okay, and yes, we cannot foresee how we might react in a future situation where a loved one will be taken from us with us having to standby and acknowledge it as it happens against our will, all i'm asking is that someone understands what i'm saying, and either agrees with what i believe on the matter, or disagrees. Instead of spouting self-righteous babble about what an idiot i am, or how un-empathetic i am.

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

I cried when my dog died.

I guess I'm selfish too.

Nah, just a pansy.

Well, after 15 years, it wasn't easy saying goodbye.
I guess it must be easier for you to make idiotic replies to thread posts.

This answers what you're clearly not understanding, and btw people, not understanding the emotion of empathy does not make anyone an idiot. It just means i have a small case of Psychopathy in this situation, which i have no doubt i do possess.

I doubt it. You can't properly empathise with a situation you've never been even close to experiencing yourself. Nothing wrong with that.

Come back in 10-15 years when one or both of your parents are dead & say the same, then I'll believe you.

That goes against all evolutionary standings. Whether by a higher power, or through the works of science, we as humans were gifted with the ability of foresight. To conjure an image of another situation in our head, and to rationally interject ourselves into it to get a grasp at what we could be feeling at the time, is not impossible.

Conjuring an image of a situation & attempting to interject yourself into it is one thing, living through the situation is another.

Anybody claiming that they feel what the person in that situation feels without living through it is a liar.

Like I say, stop getting your knickers in a twist over it. When you actually get some life experience, you'll change.

In the way of part of the new Germany was Poland so Hitler and Stalin took it over so Germany could grow.

What.

His wife has a potentially terminal illness and he is upset by that. If you can't empathize with that, here's hoping you never get married.

If you didn't Play Halo: CE or Halo 2 MP, your opinion about Halo means nada.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

I wouldn't insult you like that. I do think that it means that you just haven't met anyone you can't live without yet. I've been with Mrs Charlie now for just over 13 years, and I couldn't think of life without her.

Yes, but the earth-shattering truth that you people seem to not get is that the man does not have Cancer. His wife does, does it make any sense for him to be crying and seeking attention from someone else, namely a therapist, when is wife is the one going through the disease, and should be getting that professional help herself.

You're being extraordinarily dense. I doubt anyone here is confused about who has cancer. The part that you seem to miss, however, is that people care about people other than themselves. Shocker, I know.

I'd be much more upset if someone in my family got hurt then if I did. If I die then I won't know the difference (because I'll be dead), but if a loved one dies then I have to live with that emotional pain. This isn't a difficult concept.
