if you recall, forerunners cannot put or handle indexes, that requires a reclaimer, and since mc is a human, and since he was able to activate halo, that proves humans arent forerunners

and............your proof is?

the forerunner obviously activated the rings. listen to Guilty sparks

Arbiter: "What happened to the forerunner?"
GS: "After exhausting every strategical option my creators ( forerunners ) activated the rings"

Not the most solid evidence... but I do, however, agree.

I really don't think that humans are foreunners... I mean, bungie would never consider that a "twist" because everyone has already thought of it... I think Bungie has been purposefully trying to throw people off about the origin of the Forerunners.

hmm, then it seems dumb to me that 343 GS would want the ring reactivated, besides, why wait for a "reclaimer", instead of a "forerunner"

mc was called reclaimer twice, not once a forerunner

Yea, but would if a "reclaimer" was the name of the working class who had the specific puropse of controlling the flood, or reactivating the halos?

I dunno... like i said, I don't believe that the foreunner are humans... but right now there's no solid evidence to the contrary.

reclaimer can be anyone, or anything the instillations think will activate halo for them

*343 GUILTY SPARK:
The installation was specifically built to study and contain the Flood. Their survival as a race was dependent upon it. I am grateful to see that some of them survived to reproduce.

he's grateful to see that the forerunner (humans) survived to reproduce

now dont tell me its the flood he's talkin about cuz this quote shuts that notion down:

*343 GUILTY SPARK:
Why naturally the Flood is simply too dangerous to release, and mass sterilization protocols may again need to be enacted. Of course, samples were kept here after the last catastrophic outbreak...for study. It seems... that decision may have been an error.

seeing as how it was an error to keep them, he wouldnt be happy to see the flood reproduce, would he?

therefore he's talking about the forerunners surviving to become what we are known as humans

but im sick of providing evidence. why dont you ppl who dont believe humans are forerunner give a quote for a change?

---EDIT--- In reply to spo763whatever...

Well, no. We know that it has to be human, because it says so in almost every halo medium out there... the first game, when only the master chief can be allowed to activate halo, the book "The Flood", when 343 Guilty Spark talks of the "other reclaimers" and they come across the dead marines, and in Halo 2, when Tartarus cannot activate Delta Halo, only Keyes' daughter can, and ultimately does.

Nonetheless, again you're still in the 'hypothetical', when solid evidence is what you need in order to be able to make a statement like "forerunners are not humans!"

u have quotes, but no ture legitamate proof. sure, maybe they are forerunners, but if they were, wouldnt the be super smart, or know what the ring does, or have control of the robots they created.

honestly

Because none have listened close enough to the game or read any of the books in order to give quotes, they just don't believe Bungie will have us be the Forerunners

They did have control over the Moniters. They did know exactly what the rings did. They did it on purpose.

Whatever bro, if you're going to be involved in the forums and in discussion about the plot line, and you actually want to have an educated opinion, then you should make sure you've read up on the halo universe and the already-established facts pertaining to these topics.

Technically, she WAS forced into activating the ring by Tartarus, but she also disarmed it.

Yea, dude, she did BOTH. Tartarus grabbed her arms, and forced the index into place THROUGH HER... obviously, he couldn't have done it on his own and needed a -blam!- RECLAIMER...

She did both, she put the index into the machine, which activated it, but then she took it out in order to disarm it before it went off

100,000 years will tend to cause anyone to forget their lineage

i brought proof, but i fail to see this as an arguement. you keep stating all these facts that the game itself refutes

like no one activating the rings? of course they were activated, anyone who played campaign should now that

Yeah, too bad Guilty Spark thought the Master Chief was a Forerunner. He even thinks the Master Chief was the person who activated the Halos last time, so this proof actually proves, if anything, the opposite: Forerunners are human.

I have to agree with Vanes here.

If it's so painstakingly obvious to you people that the humans are forerunners, then why would it be true? It would make the storyline very dull and boring

"You must face the truth squarely and without flinching from duty. Our enemies are mortal no longer. Mercy for such as they is a chimera, self-deception is its only ally. Dedicate this weapon, given unto your hand at the behest of the Emperor, to their destruction. Regard its function as your only duty: you live only to bring cleansing fire."

well, i think the humans are descendants of the foreunners. given what we know, only humans can activate halos and the ark is on earth. so thats pretty damning evidence saying that humans are in fact related to foreunners.
