Just to let you Floodians know, this isn't my thread, just something of an interesting read, well if Waypoint isn't so -blam!- slow to load.

I know everyone knows about the quit ban, but it does make you wonder how many games it will take for the quit ban to take effect. But 1 hour is a bit excessive and combined with the JiP? Not a smart move.

What do you think about the quit ban? Do you think it's needed in Halo 4? Do you think it will help deter quitters from quitting?

Okay, link is fixed. Friggin' hate Waypoint... glitchy-ass website. Also thanks Boom and War.

no its legit, i used coordinates, set weapon timers the works.

I think people need to stop finding every little thing they can to hate on a game.

Also, stop quitting, problem solved.

If they didn't want people to quit, they should have never implemented join in progress. Hopefully they learn from their silly mistake.

STOP ASSAULT 2012

Who is Assault? Assault is a mod in the Bungie.net brony group. And what started out with good intentions, viciously spiraled down into a power hungry tyrant locking thread after thread after thread to quell all opposition to his tyrannical rule. Did I mention he is a tyrant?

Are you serious? People will quit no matter what, how many people quit in halo 3, and halo reach, despite the fact that there was no join in progress? Did you even think about that before you hit the submit button?

Stupid. People will quit regardless and what if someone simply gets disconnected? I don't wanna get "punished" because my connection sucks.

Do you think it's needed in Halo 4?

No considering people can still join. Unlike Reach, the game isn't necessarily "in the bag" for the other team when half your team quits.

Do you think it will help deter quitters from quitting?

No.

It wasn't that bad in Halo 3, especially with the ranked playlists. Reach however...

Halo 4 is over the top at the moment.

Indeed, it really is an absurd amount of quits before a player get the 1h ban.

Oh don't get me wrong, people are always going to quit, however, join in progress removes the guilt factor that might prevent most normal people from quitting. Join in Progress more or less says "Did you make a mess? Well don't worry about it, if you leave the mess for the rest of your team mates to clean up, we'll send someone to replace you so they aren't short handed! Have a wonderful day!"

It seems conflicting to include a feature that encourages quitting and then ban when people take advantage of that feature too much.

I think it defeats the purpose of a JIP when you ban someone for quitting too much. When that persons leaving there is going to be someone to replace them. So it's not that big of a lost player count wise. The other thing is that let's say every match I join my team is losing badly. So I'm going to leave and hopefully join a new game or one that both teams are evening. But I keep ending up on teams that are losing badly. So should I really be punished for quitting those matches? Why would I want to join something when there's no hope of winning and I'm going to be matched with a bad team? 343 should have thought of that.

I also love that they have the failed mute ban. They should have realized it caused more harm than good.

Chill bro, it's takes and extremely great amount of quits to be quit banned in Halo 4.

Stop arguing over imaginary -blam!-. May as well argue over Santa Claus. There will never be proof that there is/was a god - and before people start saying "HERP DERP PROVE THERE WASN'T ONE ROFLOLOL" well, you are the people who made it up in the first place so we know there isn't one
What created the big bang then? A coalition of genetically modified TR-909s with extra distortion?

Just another reason to not play that bad game.

  • 01.07.2013 3:38 PM PDT

Why the hell would they have a quit ban in a game with JiP?!

Oh, Halo 4 brought back the Mute Ban? Does it at least have more notification this time around?

You need to quit a ton of times in order to get banned, so your example isn't relevant.

I don't know I just seen some people that are auto muted.

  • 01.07.2013 3:41 PM PDT

Honestly, they should have just gone back to the Halo 3 ranking system and had the armor unlocks a separate thing.
No JiP, and you get 1 exp per match, and you lose 1 if you quit. That was a good enough incentive to not quit most of the time.

Still, they added JIP then add a quit ban. Hurts my brain just thinking about it.

They implemented JiP to stop quitters, why should a quit ban be included? Also combined with the fact that they never spoke about this to anyone and that there is no warning for it, it just happens.
