I am going to go with Western. For the ratio of good shows it better. Even though both have good and bad ones.
Good shows? You could probably only name off twenty, if that because only the decent ones get on Tv....

Hello Mr. Biased. My name is Zoomzoom. Today I will explain to you what I mean when I say the word, ratio. There is rather a large amount of Anime. There is far more Anime then Western animation. However that means there are a broader range of show types and various programs. All vary in entertainment value.

Western has less shows, so that means they have less bad shows on average.

Anime has more shows, so that means they have more bad shows average.

Hence why I used the word, ratio. Oh and if you try to argue those points, you will not win sir. I suggest you just respect my opinion and I will respect yours and then we can carry on and not bother wasting our time. Thank you.
You're honestly an idiot. That's not even a comparable statistic because the only way Western shows can be made is by bringing it in front of a board and getting it approved by a large network.

Tell me, how many western shows are there airing right now, and if you even think one or two of them is -blam!-, then the ratios are closer than you think.

Ahhh flood. You are too easy.

Western animation has horrible artwork but good animation framerate

Anime has beautiful artwork and awesome framerate animation but horrible scripts and dialogues.

Western animation has better animation. Anime has better story but also has some really wierd stuff because of the sheer diversity.

All you need to know is: America is not as good as Japan; there's no anime!

Still the logic of Japanese anime in their stories are far too dumb or contradictory nonestop. American cartoons have very well structured storyline, script and dialogues, but god awful artwork.

Yes, but you guys aren't taking into consideration that most Anime series (like 99%) aren't ever aired on TV and the only Western Animation shows you find are backed by huge names and even then they are beat by quite a bit of anime. I guess it is all opinion because they are different but I encourage everyone to try some beginner series out like Elfen Lied or Claymore and go from there and you'll see the true beauty that Anime can bring to the table. It's unlike anything I've ever watched.

Dude you're an 11b, you are infantry for a reason.

I'm an Indonesian Halo (and other games) gamer!
Bhineka Tunggal Ika!!

I like both, although I choose anime in terms of "continuity" since most cartoons I watch are usually "random" (pretty accessible whatever episode you watch)

Was that supposed to be an intellectual joke? Because with my ASVAB I could have gotten any MOS and I'm at college right now.

Anime is for losers. I'd stay away from it if I were you.

We're talking about art styles, not shows.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

I prefer anime.

I prefer hybrids of the two, like Avatar.

The anime I have laid my eyes on, will, hurts my eyes. Backgrounds are so redundant, the animation is boring and slow they just stand there talking and talking and more talking, when they finally get around to fighting it's short the combat is stupid, they can be like twigs but pick a sword or a gun 5 times their size. It's ridiculously over the top, in a bad way.

I like Western style cartoons because they focus on creating simple, yet diverse designs, with a really heavy focus on keeping it smooth. Everything smooth, the story, the characters, the animation, etc.

Now I am not saying all Anime is bad, or that all western is good. I love anime like Princess Mononoke, Spirited away, etc. Those all keep it moving, it doesn't stagnate like a mother-blam!- like others.

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

Why make this? Why even try and compare the two? They're simply two different styles. Neither is inherently better or worse than the other.
