Subject: Stuebenville case probably wasn't a -blam!- (-blam!- assault)

I was watching the news today and seeing how they focused on this case a lot I feel informed enough on the subject matter to make a judgement.

Quick background for the uninformed: Supposedly, a girl was raped by 2 highschool football stars and screwed without consent.

I agreed with this judgement at first, but then I built the scenario in my head..

The first thing I feel is important to note is that this chick knowingly and understandingly consented to go to this party. In fact, there were going to be 3 parties that night and she most likely intended to go to all of them.

I think here its safe to rule out that she is the poor innocent girl the media is making her out to be. I know and you know, people go to these parties pretty much understanding they are going to get drunk, high, or whatever. She planned and wanted to get drunk at this party. If she didn't want to, she wouldn't have taken even that first sip or gone to the party period. She wanted to get -blam!- up.

Knowing that the girl wasn't the innocent, conservative type, and that she wanted to get "-blam!- up", it wouldn't be a huge jump in logic to guess she probably wanted to have sex there too. People have sex and get wasted all the time at big parties and pretty much everyone knows it.

Girls like to advance their social status. Guys too. Going to this or that part can make it seem like you are cooler or more popular. Having sex with a more popular person kinda brings you to their level. If a loser gets the #1 girl in the school he becomes prime meat for all the other girls.

Why then is it such a big jump in logic to assume that the chick wanted to screw the highschool football stars; two of the schools most popular guys? It really would make sense to me if the chick went to the party wanting to do those two guys. They obviously knew each other beforehand. Even if she was passed out during the act, I expect she consented beforehand; perhaps even by simply going to the part in the first place.

It's normal for highschool kids to hookup while drunk/high and then be kinda awkward about it later. All of these kids have had their lives ruined forever and I don't think its fair to judge them too harshly for what they did under the influence. I can't say for sure which side is right or wrong but only hope for the truth to be victorious.

This is just my two cents.

Thoughts? Opinions?
