Anyhoo: The gun is too good at everything.

Close Range: DMR, but not as much.
Mid Range: DMR
Long Range: DMR

I wreck with the DMR but I'm almost done with my commendation so I'm not using it as much.

I swear that I'm unable to beat the DMR with the Carbine, at all, unless the enemy misses some shots.

The DMR is impossible to beat if they hit all, or miss just one.

I use the Carbine.

I only used the DMR for my first few days of playing and it's still listed as my favorite weapon, which it is not. I don't care. I don't like the game that much anyway.
funny, I can kill people fine with the carbine, and the storm rife, even when the DMR get's the first shot... you know why?

because I know how to actually maneuver around maps and evade shots.

Funny, my kills out weigh my deaths twofold.

You know why? Cause I've been playing halo in the MLG playlist since Halo 3.
and your proof is where?

I mean you could post a video or something..

I'm not going to go test this out, besides without a capture card to measure frames its not going to be very easy to measure tenths of a second.

You don't need to post a video, just go test it shooting at the exact same time and see who wins.

It'll be the DMR. The tests have been done, and aside from the scoped lightrifle, the DMR kills fastest, and is easiest to use.

I don't need no stinking signature!

The light rifle is more powerful but still not as accurate, plus it's only useful when scoped in, it's shots are highly visible and it has a slow rate of fire making it much easier to dodge/take cover from. Other precision weapons don't come near the dmr's accuracy, even the BR isn't as accurate as it was in Halo 3 making it very hard to use beyond a relatively short distance.

The DMR has a ton of aim assist, fires fairly fast and requires less individual shots to kill (remember the BR is burst fire and takes 14 actual bullets to kill) meaning it takes a lot less target tracking to use, all while having and insignificantly longer kill time than other weapons. But it isn't the weapon balance that's that important, its what it does to map movement. It's just not fun taking huge unavoidable hits from the other side of the map when you can barely even tell the direction of the shooter. Ragnarok is a perfect example, aside from hiding behind rocks and popping your head out to shoot people far away from you, it's almost impossible to actually move around on foot without being gunned down in seconds. The map was so fun in halo 3 because the BR's limited range meant you had time to walk between pieces of cover and have smaller skirmishes with the enemy, unlike now where it's almost like trench warfare.

UnitedBands.net

My band and artist networking/information site. Check it out!

From every video I've seen comparing the two, BR and DMR. At medium to close range they both need only 5 shots for a kill, doesn't matter whether they're are head shots or body shots for the first 4 hits (4 hits, regardless of where they are, brings the shield down). The final shot if it's a head shot, gives you the kill, if you don't get head shots it requires 7 shots to the body for a kill.

Where the DMR surpasses the BR is at long range, since all 3 rounds from the BR generally don't land head shots when it matters. They are practically identical one is just more capable of landing a headshot at long range.

I really can't comment on the carbine and LR since I hardly ever see or use it in game.

Brainwashing, idiotic media: "hur dur, vido gaems cas vilenc n iz nt gud. dey ned 2 b baned."

Logic: Really? Then please explain how there's violence in third world countries. I guess they're all poor due to the large amount of video games they buy.

Why not just more classic elements such as Slayer BR or DMR?

It's not hard to aim the BR.

@Makko.

Just aim 2 players at each other than spam the triggers. Very simple. DMR wins every single time.

Wrong. Scope a light rifle for 1 shot then spam the DMR vs. lightrifle. That's right the LR wins.

Eh, I think it's fast fire rate is what makes it the Go-To loadout weapon. It can fire fast enough that it is good at all ranges besides melee range. They should have make it slower firing and put it between the Lightrifle and BR rather than give it the advantages of all three other rifles (Carbine, BR, LR)
