GT: Clerks

Between freshman and senior year in high school, I had over 100 missed days, the vast majority of which were me skipping in freshman and sophomore year.

In college I think I missed 1 class over 4 years, and it was because I was like on-death's-door sick.

I had a lot of friends in HS and liked enough of my classes/teachers. It just wasn't something I could do at that age.

Have I ever left school after having been in the school already? No.

But I have skipped an entire school day in one of the school's bathrooms. I slept in the stall. I was tired as -blam!-, I can't even explain how tired I was. Woke up at 2:10, and school got out at 2:20.

I don't even

OT: Yes. In high school, I skipped a couple times in order to do last-minute projects, as well as to get the Reach Beta.
I also skipped a last-period class in senior year quite frequently, 'cause I hated to wait around for 2 hours prior to class, and he never took attendance.

Last semester of college I slept in twice.

Quite often actually. In tenth grade I waited alone at my bus stop, so sometimes I would just walk into town, head to a secluded nearby lake and spend the day reading/listening to music.

I only skipped classes like Woods and ceramic class. Even though I enjoined woods I wanted to go home and take a nap. I'd clock in leave and I'd have a friend clock me out. On my senior year I got an A even though I wasn't there half the time.

No, because I want a job.

Yeah. Hell, I'm skipping right now.

Kinda. Just random classes really.

They rarely check your first few years of high school.

A few times. Mostly if it was the last class and there was some kind of pep rally. My School didn't have security (Canada) so you could leave when you wanted and no one would stop you.

I believe I'm granted one "mental health day" per year, but no, I wouldn't choose to skip school if given the opportunity (Making up work and falling behind is annoying).

This. Although high school was pretty much a cake walk.

No cause if I miss 3 lab classes without good reason I'd fail.

Besides skipping is irresponsible and theirs no good reason to do it unless your very sick.

Somebody showed me the Scarab Gun in Halo 2 once.
I was like WHOA DUDE, WHOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAA
Then I sorta blanked out in a red haze and when I came to, everyone was dead.

The staff at my highskool (and junior high, I think) would call my parents if I was ever marked absent from a class. So no, I never skipped. Not really any point in skipping class anyway.

  • 01.07.2013 10:14 PM PDT

What a waste....

I prefer to not miss any classes. If I just went for lunch, maybe, but that period is only like 40 minutes and sneaking + going somewhere is too much of a hassle.

Most of all, I think the making up for it part sucks the most.

Actually, I did skip exam days. But everyone who was exempt was actually encouraged to skip.

Talking about Sweden is an ultrabannable offense.

Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

I was in pretty poor health for most of school, so I'd often miss up to a week at a time from catching the flu.

How did that work?

In any case, I might skip in the future if I'm REALLY behind on some important project and I don't have a whole lot in other classes that day.

At least not everyone in this thread is parroting the same attitude. That's encouraging.

Everyone who was exempt did not have to take the exams, so most of them skipped.

In fact, there were only a few hundred people there (I wasn't).

'Course it was foolish, I just laugh when I think about the things I did in High School, and I don't mind sharing them.

6 years of college --> 1 missed day (went to Vegas for my birthday, understandably)

In high school I probably averaged around 2 or 3 missed days a year.

Rarely, but i did do it.
