well, I sent you a PM on how to do that in CS, but I have no idea how to do that in Halo. you can use -14 and -11 on the shortcut to the program to lower the directx level, but this is about all I know.

BTW, it does not make the graphics better, far from it, but your proformance will go up.

umm DX7 is 2 generations old buddy. DX9.0C is the latest version, im pretty sure if anything DX7 would result in worse graphics.

I think halo requires DX8 at least anyway. I remember having problems with my ati x800XL because of the 256mb memory support and some issues dealing with DX8.

Is that why the Xbox version of Halo runs at a constant FPS of 30-60? Because of a lower version of DirectX?

Also, IceCreamMan, it's called Google.

Halo runs around 25-30fps on xbox, and drops even lower on the silent cartographer where your drivin the warthog and come around the corner where you first go inside and there are 2 hunters. I dont know if it was just my xbox, but everytime I play that part the framerate drops. Anyway I dont think any games on xbox get 60fps unless your playing pong or something.

Is your Xbox defected or something? Halo runs much smoother than most midrange PCs do on the Xbox. (You can thank Gearbox for forgetting to optimize Halo for PC gaming.
