Subject: Why are original movie concepts so hard to come by?

I just rewatched the trailer for Warm Bodies (which you should totally watch if you haven't) and it got me thinking, why are orignal concepts for movies so difficult to come by nowadays? Is it because almost everything "worth doing" has been done? I know there are exceptions to this rule, but for the most part recent movies have been lacking in original concepts. What do you think is the reason for this? Do you agree? Do you disagree?

Do I agree or disagree with what? Your post is just a bunch of questions.

Are you asking if I agree that they are hard to come by?

If so, then yes.

That movie isn't at all original. It's basically a remodeled Twilight. I mean, for -blam!-'s sake, it's just reworking the 'mythical creature and love' concept.

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

That movie will either be really good or really bad.

Break down, every single one of you.

The problem is that most ideas have been explored already. Try thinking of an idea that no human in recorded history has ever thought of. It is rather hard to do.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

Everyone watch the original The Thing. It's a work of art.

I know, right?
Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

Original scripts are submitted to big studios all the time, but they're unwilling to finance ideas that they don't know will be surefire hits. Franchises and adaptations tend to be almost certain winners, so the big money goes behind those, whereas original scriptwriters find it harder to get financial backing for their concepts.

Holly Wood does not like to think.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten why I hated Hollywood.

Maybe Vsause should do another pointless video about how quantifiable every plot possibility is, and by doing some math you can find out at which point in time we will run out of movie ideas.

Dear tomorrow, Find some sensibility, Respond to emotion.
Dear Politician, Define sagacity,
All chances of survival are beginning to diminish.
Comedy is no excuse for our own blasphemies.
Mass media, Mass pessimism, Mass Denial.
My television tells me to panic, but I don't think I'll listen.
The apathetic force us to persevere, with their backwards priorities.

Because movies have been in existence for too long for originals to be made.
