Nobody is gonna take the guns away. If it ever were to happen, I think it's silly when these nutjobs think they could have a successful revolution. A revolution in 1776 was possible because it was guns vs guns. Today it would be guns vs the armies tanks, jet fighters and many other things that will destroy you and your gun. A successful revolution attempt today would be a complete failure.

People seem to forget that the military would be obligated to side with civilians because their oath is to defend the Constitution of the United States, not the government. If the military held up its oath, it would be civilians and the military against the politicians and whatever they could buy.

However, there isn't going to be a revolution and a ban isn't going to be passed. It's unconstitutional. It's just everyone wasting their time trying to find a scapegoat to blame, with everything from guns to the media receiving the blame. The real source of the problem is our healthcare, especially the lack of quality mental healthcare.

The problem doesn't come from guns or movies or games. It comes from deranged lunatics that didn't get the help they needed.

Basically this how America works.

1. People get shot
2. People get angry
3. Government says we need to do something
4. 4 months of number 3 happening with people saying the same
5. Nothing happens
6. Go back to step 1.

The government won't do anything because of the constitution and the supreme court won't allow it, nobody will willingly hand in their guns either.

Basically it's a load of hot air and every side and you wonder why it continues, it's also the same argument for national healthcare, its unconstitutional apparently.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

But we could improve our healthcare system without having a national healthcare system. There is no way to completely end gun violence in the US. There is a way to improve the mental health of the country. The exact way it would be done, I'm not sure. That isn't my area of expertise. A gun ban, which many are mindlessly suggesting, will only make the situation worse. To put it simply...

If anything to ban guns is passed, everyone freaks out and panics.
The US has hundreds of millions of guns in it already. No one is going to take them or turn them in.
Criminals can still very easily get guns from Mexico.
Banning guns takes out a huge portion of our economy. Everything from bullets (including reloading equipment) to firearms (and accessories for those firearms) puts money back into the economy, which we need.

The only way to reduce gun violence in the US that could actually work is for everybody to stop arguing and to start improving the mentality of the country through education and better healthcare. Crazy people kill people. Normal people, regardless of any weapons they have, don't kill people.

A nice man that enjoys target shooting, even if he owns an M2 .50 BMG machine gun, is not dangerous.

A crazy person, even without a weapon, is dangerous.

and the republic will wise again.

But radio show host Alex Jones appeared to lose the plot last night on US TV as he screamed at Morgan at the top of his lungs, calling him a "redcoat foreigner" - a reference to Morgan's British citizenship - and threatened a revolution if anyone tried to "take our guns".

So, don't you guys have anybody better to stand up for guns? So far you have this guy and the Pro-gun lobby guys?

Also the woman who got got shot in the face a year or so ago is trying to get rid of gun violence. So right now there doesn't seem to be a decent argument or rational thought coming from the US media as to why the guns should stay.

Would you join this so called "Revolution"? Should people like this DJ be listened to?
Is Piers Morgan the irrational nutjob of the guy who shouts and name calls his opponents when it comes to gun control the guy you want to represent you?

Anyways, Piers did this to smear Alex and pro-gunners, case and point is asking his views about 9/11 after talking about guns, why would you bring that up? It's clearly obvious after that video that he was receiving a lot of criticism for acting like an idiot that he was trying to find a bigger idiot to make him seem rational.

Either way they're both irrational idiots.
Dude if you can find 1 person in the UK who likes the guy then I will eat my hat.
There was a petition to deport him back to England but there was a counter petition saying "We don't want him back you keep him."

The real source of the problem is our healthcare, especially the lack of quality mental healthcare.
This x1000
Even if you want less gun control or more, this is really an issue. Our mental Healthcare is very troublesome, mental health professions are some of the most under-manned compare to the amount of patients they pull in the whole industry, Pediatric Mental Health Professionals is the most under-manned health care field with patient to doctor ratio, in the state of Connecticut alone there is only 6 Pediatric Psychologist. Reason behind this is lack of funding to the mental health field, doctors are pulling more than they can chew with patients to more funding while being less accessable to the general population. Wait times to actual see a professional are among the longest.

This isn't even a matter of coverage, just accessability even if you have the money.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

Posted by: Ason Unique
A Disc Jockey was originally someone who played music on the radio (the discs were vinyl records) so radio DJs are still DJs today. The term was infact coined by an American to describe a radio DJ too
K.

Alex Jones hosts a talk show, not a music show.

Once again, he's not a DJ in any sense of the word, no more than Rush Limbaugh is.

they sent him on the show to make it look like all gun owners are raving nutjobs. but he is right in that piers is a brit and shouldn't be talking about our rights that he has no right to use...

have we got anything to say or defend our point of view? not when the target audience blatantly goes out of it's way to spread lies, ignorance, and ignore facts and statistics.

because nobody can get through to a person that determined to NOT listen.

when the target audience is level headed reasonable people(IE not the typical "STFU STFU, the children, man! lalal i can't hear you, you're too stupid, a very dumb man! you're beneath me, you ignorant redneck!")

I don't think anyone here is in favor of totally banning guns.

There are legal solutions to these mass shootings. Instead of being a total -blam!-, why don't you support these solutions?
because if you'd bother doing actual factual, you'd know you have no real ground on which to accuse legal gun owners of being the cause of crimes. we have a poor justice system, a poor education system, a poor healthcare system, too much unemployment rates, over 11 million illegal invaders, and an aging infrastructure. get rid of those problems and you stop a lot of crimes.

instead you just repeat whatever false info you're told on the news, never thinking, never questioning, never learning.

hell i posted resources with which to start doing research in the OP.

it gets ignored because "Hurr, doesn't support my position. it's invalid". we're not being unreasonable, it's the people who don't listen to fact and only want feel good laws that don't solve any problems who're being unreasonable.

we're trying to teach ya something but it's only met with a NOOOPE.avi response

what good does an AWB do? we had one before and crime ONLY went up.
because it only bans guns that some politician thinks looks scary. no functions affected, just looks and the legal citizens affected.

and the so called Assalt wepunz are used in less than 1% of all gun crime.

94% of ALL gun crime is gang members killing other gang members with small handguns in small calibers like .22 short.

Semi-auto means only one shot per trigger pull. hold the trigger and you'll still only have fired one shot until you let go and pull again.

>ban MGs!
uh, they already did. in 1934 they required a $200 registration. on May 19, 1986 they closed the registry, defacto banning new MGs for non-government use.

what's more is that there have only been 5 crimes committed with a registered MG since 1934 till now. 2 of those being a police officer's murder-suicide.

>ban the high cap mags!
uh, we tried that before. didn't stop crime at all. Columbine used several 10 rounder magazines in fact. reloading is a pain, drops the fun level at the range.
criminals don't care about that anyways

and "high cap" is a misnomer because 30 round mags for say an AR-15 or AKM pattern rifle is actually standard capacity.

>background check when you buy guns/gunshow loophole
uh have you never heard of a 4473 or bill of sale?

>registration
historically has always been the first step to confiscation.

>well regulated

at that time, the words meant well functioning.
and besides, the early US navy and Cannons used in the rev war were privately owned.

>no militia
Militia act of 1903 says every eligible male from 18-45 IS the militia

>they only had muskets and kentucky long rifles.
grape shot, girandoni air rifle, and puckel gun.

so what do you do? put welfare recipients in gov't factory jobs making things in the US, working for their money and take other measures to improve mental and physical healthcare and education, fix the infrastructure and reduce the underlying sociological root causes of crime.

and "mass shootings". that's also a misnomer. those are actually small, irregular minority events that receive massive publicity from a sensationalist politically agenda-ized media with no interest in truth. they are NOT as common as you think. they're just FAR more publicized.

and amount of children/people killed annually? they fluff and pad those stats.
they include suicides as firearms crimes, they include people killed in gang on gang violence up to the age range of of 18- 22 as "children" to boost stats.

the worst attack on a US school happened the day before lindburgh crossed the Atlantic and was a bombing by a PO'd Assistant Principal named Andrew Kehoe. over 45 people killed. nearly no publicity due to said flight though.
