It's an impressive theory to a great story. Bungie is a good company that is making an honest buck telling great stories.

Bungie inputs these references and other people search for them because it is a reflection of their personal lives and a way to make the game deeper and more complex. Even if you don't think the references should be there, why stomp on the fact that billions of other people and the developers like them in the game as an enrichment to the story? (Examples: Myself, the original topic poster, and countless others.)

It is a great way to add to the story, Halo would be "just another game" if it were any other way.

Ok, for those complaining about this game being striclty Christian and that it's not fair to other religions and so forth. The name of the game is HALO. If there were a game called (just an example) "Warrior Monks" or something like that, people wouldn't complain about how the game only has Buddist tie-ins or whatever religion monks practice. My point is you people are complaing about the most stupid thing. That is like complaining that someone is Christian. That is as stupid as walking into a Baptist church and telling people that it's not fair that they only worship one god.

No, you know what, you guys are right, let's throw in some Buddha, Ala, Vishnu (so on and so forth). Because you know someone is gonna cry if they don't get recognized.

What i'm saying is......shut up. Halo is connnected to the Bible and mostly Christianity and that's it.

And um Ice. Not to flat out say that you're wrong or anything but when God told Moses what his name meant, the literal translation of what was said is as follows: 13 Nevertheless, Moses said to the [true] God: “Suppose I am now come to the sons of Israel and I do say to them, ‘The God of YOUR forefathers has sent me to YOU,’ and they do say to me, ‘What is his name?’ What shall I say to them?” 14 At this God said to Moses: “I SHALL PROVE TO BE WHAT I SHALL PROVE TO BE.

there were more covenants, they were between God and Abram, God and Moses, God and the Palestinians, and God and David.

God did not reside in the Ark of the Covenant, a glowing cloud in which God was represented resided over the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark was placed in the Most Holy compartment of the tabernacle in which Moses and later the high priests can recieve instruction from God.

Edit: Also, in other Bible translations. "I am what I am" is also rendered, "I shall prove to be what I shall prove to be." Rotherham's translation renders those words: "I Will Become whatsoever I please." The thought is that God becomes whatever is needed in order to fulfill his promises.

Think of it this way. Suppose that you could become whatever you wanted to become. What would you do for your friends? If one became ill, you could become a doctor and perform a cure. If another suffered a financial loss, you could become a wealthy benefactor and come to his rescue. Of course, we can't do that, we all have limits. But, God doesn't, he can become whatever he needs to be in order to carry out his purpose.

In all, there are *cough* 7 covenants.

The most important is the New Covenant.

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed, knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each brave fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives: not men, or flags.

the last time I checked, christianity was derived through the new covenant from the old testament(Judaism).
most of the religious tie-ins are Jewish not christian.
Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all have the old testament in them.
So when you say the game is too christian, you exclude the 2 other religions from the equation. You have slandered 80% of the worlds population numb-nuts.
So b4 you go ranting in a thread that specifically asked peopl like you to not flame, know this-you are ignorant and you shouldn't go barging in on things you dont comprehend.

I think he's talking topeople who were/are/will flame/ing.

I found that ignoring them can become such an engrained habit, that they're practically invisible.

The next stage would involve making the rest of the forum look like a wasteland.
