Thats why you gotta get there early. I was there at 6:00 because I had(wanted) to help EB set up. My friend got there at 7:00. The mall closed at 8:00. And there were people who were in the mall, walked out at 8:00, and just sat out front until midnight. Mind you, it was snowing, and was freezing cold, so they were pretty dedicated :P Me and a few of the guys from EB acctually went and bugged them every so often. They'd be sitting at the door, and we'd be right inside staring at them through the window.
Our first Halo 2 game was in EB, and guess what? I won my first game! Yay!
People really started getting there at 10:00. By 11:00 the line was massive. We let people into the mall to line up at EBs doors at 11:30 so not to be cruel and make all of them freeze. Still, only about a quarter of the people were in the mall. And I should mention, that EB was downstairs and on the other side of the mall. So needless to say, their were a lot of people.
We finnally opened EBs doors at midnight, and let people get their copy. Then me and my friend invited a few people to play on one of the various LANs we had set up in the Food Court. Our first 16 player game was on that day... it was Free for All Slayer Fiesta, 100 kills, on Ivory Tower. My friend won with 100, and I was right behind him with 99. The person in 3rd had 76, and the next person after that had 42. Then they were all 35 and below. Funny thing was, me and my friend both charged at each other. I had sword, and I saw him, he had pistol. He was backing up... acting like he was scared, and then as I got close enough, he pulls out a Rocket Launcher and blows me away before I have a chance to dodge. It was a really good night.
(Holy Crap... all my posts are turning into stories of that night >.< It was so much fun)
